Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier has returned from a break in New York and hopes to seal his move to Bayern Munich.
Mail Sport understands that the England star is keen to work with his former Tottenham teammates Harry Kane and Eric Dier in Bavaria and has spoken to the Bundesliga giants.
However, Newcastle have rejected an initial approach from Bayern and word from St James’ Park is that he is not for sale unless the money on the table is too good to refuse.
That should be a significant amount above market value for a 33-year-old with 18 months left on his contract.
Sources say Trippier is not trying to ‘force’ a departure and is very happy to be playing under Eddie Howe and has enjoyed his time at the club.
