Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai after his impressive season.
The Hungarian international has scored 18 goals in 88 appearances for the Bundesliga club over the past two seasons.
Leipzig struck twice late in the game and took a 2-1 victory at Werder Bremen on Sunday. Szoboszlai tapped in the winner.
The Magpies sent scouts to watch Szoboszlai’s performance and the 22-year-old is said to have a £61 million release clause in his contract. Heaven Germany.
Szoboszlai spoke to Tag24 after the match and doubted his future when asked to stay with Leipzig.

“I’m definitely three more games at RB Leipzig,” said Szoboszlai.
“I would like to play in the Champions League and win my second prize with RB Leipzig. We’ll see what happens after the summer.’
He also corrected a reporter who said he was staying with Leipzig. “I didn’t say that,” Szoboszlai remarked.
Playing under Leipzig manager Marco Rose at Red Bull Salzburg, Szoboszlai is a smart maker on the right wing.
He made his debut at the age of 17 in May 2018, scoring on his Champions League debut in the 6-2 win against Genk, a game famous for fellow youngster Erling Haaland’s hat-trick.
Leipzig, which will meet league-leader Bayern Munich next week, is third with 60 points, one ahead of Union Berlin in fourth place and four ahead of Freiburg in fifth place.
The top four teams qualify for next season’s lucrative group stage of the Champions League.
