Newborn buried alive by mother, 23, miraculously survives and escapes unscathed after spending SIX HOURS trapped beneath soil

A newborn baby miraculously survived six hours after being buried alive by her mother.
The 23-year-old mother from Uganda buried her baby in a garden shortly after giving birth, without medical assistance.
A case report from January states that the newborn girl was buried overnight and was not discovered until 11 a.m. the next morning.
The mother’s relatives had discovered grisly blood trails in the garden at her parents’ home, which led them straight to the cemetery.
After an urgent call to the emergency services, medics rushed to the house to rescue the trapped child, who was still attached to the placenta.

The child was found covered in cuts and bruises after being pulled from the earth
Miraculously, the baby also showed signs of limb movement when touched and took worryingly shallow breaths.
Horror footage showed the child covered in deep cuts and bruises from the pressure of being stuck underground overnight.
Covered in mud and blood, the baby was pulled from the makeshift grave as medics rushed to save her.
They immediately cleaned the baby and separated her from the placenta by clamping and cutting the rest of the umbilical cord.
She was released from the hospital after six days and now lives with her grandmother
As tensions mounted, they waited for any other sign of life until a few minutes passed and the newborn let out a faint cry.
According to the case report, the child felt cold and her skin had turned “bluish” after being buried all night.
In Ghana, the weather can drop as low as 10 degrees Celsius at night from October to April.
Rescuers desperately wrapped the girl in towels before taking her to a local hospital for further checks.
When she arrived, the baby showed more signs of life and let out a powerful cry – much to the relief of the medics.
The newborn had been cleaned at the scene, but doctors rushed to sterilize the wounds, which still showed traces of dirt, in an attempt to spare the child from developing infections.
She was placed in an incubator and given oxygen through nasal pins as medics marveled at how the little girl had survived the ordeal.
Further examination revealed that she had suffered no injuries to her heart, stomach or other organs.
Just six days later, the newborn was discharged from the hospital and was able to breathe normally again within 24 hours without oxygen supply.
The newborn is now being raised by her grandmother after her mother was taken into custody by local authorities for attempted infanticide.
She was then reportedly placed in a prison before being transferred to a psychiatric facility.
It comes after a newborn baby was rescued after being buried alive at a farm in India in November 2020.
Footage showed the child being pulled from the earth after being spotted by a worker working in fields in the Khatima area, near the Nepal border.
