The New York Times has published a scathing op-ed by one of its star columnists criticizing Joe Biden for disowning a stripper granddaughter with whom his son Hunter was having an affair.
Maureen Dowd shared a letter to Biden from her sister Peggy, a Republican voter who was previously so enamored with the current president that she voted for him.
But Dowd said Peggy was shocked by Biden’s refusal to acknowledge four-year-old Marine Joan Roberts, whose mother Lunden got pregnant after an affair with Hunter. The president infamously said earlier this year that he has “six grandchildren” — completely ignoring Arkansas-based Navy Joan, who is his seventh.
Dowd even suggested that the president’s behavior would lead to the little girl being bullied at school. as “she grows up knowing that her father and paternal grandparents wanted nothing to do with her.”
“She’ll probably be able to see a few videos of her half-sister Naomi getting married on the South Lawn and you watching the fireworks on the balcony with little Beau. And if she misses that, there will be plenty of classmates to remind her she wasn’t wanted. Kids can be so mean.”
It comes after Hunter Biden’s baby mama settled their bitter alimony case with the first son, who vowed to meet their daughter out of wedlock and play a role in her life, DailyMail.com exclusively revealed last week.

Dowd’s piece focused on a letter her sister Peggy wrote to the president criticizing him for telling the nation he only has six grandchildren — as the president has refused to admit or accept that he has a seventh has.

Years of legal wrangling came to an abrupt end when 32-year-old Lunden Roberts agreed to cut Hunter’s $20,000 monthly payments and withdrew her petition to have Navy Joan’s last name changed to Biden.
The preschool-aged girl has never met Hunter, and the Bidens have refused to count her as part of the family — with just six stockings representing the grandchildren who will be hanged at the White House for Christmas.
Peggy wrote in the letter that while Navy Joan has the “Biden blood flowing through her veins” and DNA testing in 2019 confirmed his paternity, the child did not get the other benefits of being a Biden.
Instead, “all she’ll have as a reminder of this is some of Hunter’s original paintings;” sounds like a worthless trade-off if you ask me,” she added.
Hunter has recently become a successful artist whose abstract works have fetched up to $500,000 apiece – though his burgeoning career has been marred by accusations of nepotism.
Peggy’s letter then went straight to Biden’s heart when it brought up the president’s deceased one-year-old daughter, whom he tragically lost in a 1972 car accident.
“I know you still carry that pain with you every day because I’ve looked at your face when you talk about her,” Peggy wrote. “Please don’t throw away your granddaughter.”
Earlier this week, House of Representatives Republican Conference Speaker Elise Stefanik also criticized President Biden for failing to recognize his seventh grandchild.
Stefanik, who proudly proclaims herself as the “newest mom” in Congress, told DailyMail.com that the Navy president should have recognized Joan years ago.

None of the Bidens have met four-year-old Navy Joan, including President Joe Biden, first lady Jill, Hunter and baby Beau Biden, who were photographed together during the 4th of July celebration on Tuesday
“Every American knows Joe Biden should have done the right thing years ago and acknowledged ALL of his grandchildren,” said Stefanik, RN.Y.
“It is cold, heartless, selfish and cowardly that the President of the United States cannot show love or compassion to his beautiful granddaughter. America sees this for what it is: an unforgivable disgrace.”
Sources told DailyMail.com that the stunning turn of events in the legal battle came after Hunter told Roberts in private conversations that he wanted to end hostilities and “build a relationship” with the adorable four-year-old.
The pact also paves the way for Navy Joan to eventually meet the rest of the Biden brood — including President Joe and First Lady Jill — for the first time.

While the financial details of the settlement remain secret, court documents indicate budding artist Hunter, 53, will have his daughter choose one of his paintings each month as a gift.
But the White House still refuses to recognize the child as family.
At a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre closed off a question about whether Biden would now recognize Navy Joan as his grandchild after child support dispute resolution.
“I have nothing to share from here,” Jean-Pierre said at the briefing as she continued with the next question.

The blonde girl was conceived around December 2017 while Hunter was still in a relationship with his brother Beau’s widow, Hallie.
“I had no recollection of our meeting,” Hunter wrote in his memoir of the case. ‘I had so little connection with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess for which I took responsibility.’
