New York teen filmed with an anti-Semitic sign is identified – as her high school condemns her ‘serious lapse in judgment’ and vows to heal their community with ‘restorative justice’
A woman has been identified who proudly displayed an overtly anti-Semitic sign at a pro-Palestinian rally on Wednesday – suggesting the world needs to be ‘cleansed’ of Jews.
Fahima Karim, a 19-year-old student at the Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young Women in Brooklyn, waved the disturbing sign with the words “Please Keep the World Clean” next to a Star of David in a trash can.
The incident occurred when she and fellow students, along with a teacher, skipped class to participate in a “walkout” protest in Washington Square Park, where some NYU students were heard shouting anti-Semitic slurs, marking a troubling trend of rising hate towards Jews. and Israel in New York.
This is not the first time that Fahima Karim has attracted attention online. She previously appeared in a video expressing her deep disdain for white people, saying she “really doesn’t care about white lives.”
“I don’t like white people…I just don’t like…for no reason,” she said in the street interview.

Her school in Brooklyn, Urban Assembly Institute of Math and Science for Young Women, issued a statement condemning her action and promising investigation
On Thursday, the Brooklyn public school she currently attends released a statement after significant backlash condemn her actions and promise a thorough investigation.
“Our mission at UAI has always been to support the voice and power of our young women.”
“Unfortunately, today at least one of our community members made a serious error in judgment. She exercised that voice and power to spread hatred and anti-Semitism. The image was captured and posted on social media, which is how we discovered her choices.”
“Our mission is also about equality and rigor, and we strongly condemn any action by any member of our community that spreads hatred or oppression. We are committed to righting the wrongs that led to this decision, and to embracing both the individual and the work she has before her, as well as our community and the community at large that has been terribly damaged by her actions.”
Many people are now calling for her expulsion from educational institutions and urging colleges to deny her admission based on her openly hateful and discriminatory beliefs.
In response to the backlash, Karim appears to have deleted her social media profiles from online

“As a next step, we will conduct a thorough investigation to hold these individuals accountable for their actions. In addition, we will use our restorative justice tools to heal the harm in our community and beyond our school. As we learn more and develop more details about our next steps, we will share that with you.”

‘Your student Fahima Karim is an anti-Semite, please act accordingly. You cannot accept these students as part of your university!’ said one.
“Please retweet and make sure Fahima Karim never gets into a Western university again,” another user on X tweeted.
Fahima Karim can grow from this and take it as a learning experience – or she can double down and live a life of hate on the fringes of society; and completely unemployed,” said a third.
In response to the backlash, Karim appears to have deleted her social media profiles from online platforms.

The students say they are demanding a “divestment” of NYU funds from Israel
In the middle of the protest, a handful of young Jewish men sang and prayed against anti-Semitic signals.
The students gathered for the “walkout” protest organized by Ryna Workman, a law student who previously called Hamas’ attack on Israel “necessary.”
There were dozens of Gen Z protesters in Washington Square Park, waving pride flags and wearing kaffiyehs, demanding “freedom for Palestine” and a “repulsion” of Israel’s “genocidal regime.”
NYU spokesman John Beckman told DailyMail.com on Wednesday that the school is working to verify the couple’s identities.
“These signals are anti-Semitic, disgusting and a shame. We do not know the identity of the people depicted, but we are taking this seriously and will investigate.
“To be clear, anti-Semitism is against University rules and violators will be subject to University conduct procedures.”
At the same protest, a young Jewish man was chased by pro-Palestinian supporters who refused to answer when he asked if they supported Hamas.
The young protesters shouted and chanted, led by Workman.
It is the latest in a series of anti-Semitic or anti-Israel incidents in the city.
Over the weekend, middle-aged adults were filmed tearing up and removing posters of Israeli child hostages.
Cheddar reporter Katie Sands Bochman, who is Jewish, was walking her dog in the park at the time of the protest.
She approached the young woman holding the anti-Semitic sign and asked her name.
‘She looked very scared and didn’t want to give it to me. They incited a lot of violence and were very aggressive, but mostly wore masks, which is so cowardly,” Sands Bochman told DailyMail.com.
“They don’t want their faces shown, but they like to incite violence.”
She said that after confronting the youths with the anti-Semitic sign, some other protesters asked to pet her dog.
‘I don’t know if they know what they’re singing or who they’re following. They are so uneducated. It makes me afraid for our country.
“They follow very dangerous people just to, it seems, feel like they’re part of something.”
