Reporter Olivia Nuzzi says she was allowed to inspect the bullet Donald Trump recently took in his ear during an interview, calling it “normal, unbelievable and fine.”
A 20-year-old gunman attempted to assassinate the former president at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, grazing Trump’s ear, leaving it bloodied.
Nuzzi, a reporter for New York Magazine, wrote a profile of Trump in Florida a few weeks after the shooting, but couldn’t resist also highlighting the condition of Trump’s ear.
Trump tapped the spot where he was shot, and Nuzzi wrote, “Never did an ear seem to have suffered less.”
“The specific spot he identified with his crane was pristine. I carefully scanned the rest of the terrain. It looked normal and incredible and fine,” she added.

Nuzzi, a reporter for New York Magazine, was doing a profile of Trump in Florida just weeks after the shooting and couldn’t resist commenting on the condition of Trump’s ear
She said in her Article in New York Magazine that she saw a small piece of Trump’s ear that appeared to have come through in the shooting and described the area in almost questionable terms.
‘An ear had never seemed so bad. Except there, on the tiniest patch of this tiny skin sculpture, a tiny deformity that looked not like a crucifixion wound but the distant aftermath of a sunburn.’
Trump himself was somewhat philosophical about his wounds.
“It’s a railway line. They didn’t need any stitching. You know, it’s funny. Normally, something like that would be considered a surreal experience where you don’t even realize it, and yet in this case, there was no surrealism,” he told Nuzzi.
“I knew right away that I had been hit by a bullet. I knew it was my ear. It’s amazing. And the ear, as you know, is a big bleeder.”
Her words seemed to leave room for the insane conspiracy theories liberals peddled about the shooting shortly after it happened.
YouTuber James Klug interviewed the crowd in Huntington Beach, California to ask for their thoughts on the assassination attempt on Trump.
“It was a false flag,” one man told him. He replied, “Someone died and two people were injured, what do you think about that?”
But the man only replied, “False flag.”
Another beachgoer said: ‘I thought it was beautifully staged. It was professionally done. It almost looked real.’
He was asked who staged it and he replied, “By Mr. Trump, of course.”

The man added that the death and injuries were a “small price to pay.” “Trump doesn’t care,” he added. “Do you think he cares if people die so he gets elected?
‘Death means nothing to Trump.
“I think he got away alive, maybe with a scratch on his ear. Behind the scenes, it was all made up.
“They made a little scratch on his ear and threw a little blood on his face.”
Klug asked, “Do you think they were planning to shoot at the corner of his ear from 120 yards away?
The man replied, “They never shot off the corner of his ear. That was all done by the people hanging around him.”
“I think this whole thing was staged,” a third man claimed. “It could be [Trump] or the other side trying to create a scene.
“But the fact that it just caught his attention and he stood up and said, America, come on, this doesn’t feel normal.
Trump was hit in the ear and an attendee at his ill-fated rally in Butler, Pennsylvania was killed by Crooks’ hail of bullets, which were reportedly ended by a heroic officer firing from the ground
“To me it seems like it was planned. Bless that soul that he dies for this cause. I feel so sorry for that person’s family. It’s just a feeling.”
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired eight rounds into the crowd, striking Trump in the ear and killing three people at the rally.
The Secret Service counter-sniper team took out the gunman. They said the male gunman began shooting from an elevated position outside the rally grounds before he was killed. Two other people were seriously wounded by the gunfire.
Footage on social media shows the dead gunman lying on a beige building about 100 yards (90 meters) north of the podium where Trump was standing when he was shot.
The gunman opened fire from inside AGR International, a factory that produces plastic containers.
Trump was halfway through his sentence, saying, “Look what happened,” when shots rang out shortly before 6 p.m. ET. Terrified screams filled the air as he and bystanders dove to the ground.
In the moments after the shooting, voices could be heard shouting, “The shooter is down!” Trump ducked to the ground as protesters screamed in fear.
The 45th president was seen crouching down with blood streaming from his ear. Trump has since released a statement on TruthSocial detailing what happened to him.
The body of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate former President Trump, was returned to his family for cremation just 10 days after the shooting
He wrote: ‘I was hit by a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong because I heard a whooshing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet tear through my skin. There was a lot of blood loss, so I realized what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!’
It was previously suggested that Trump was hit and injured by a piece of an autocue.
Seconds later, the bloodied lawmaker raised his fist to signal he was okay as Secret Service agents surrounded him before being led away.
Trump was also heard repeatedly asking, “Let me just get my shoes.”
When the crowd realized their hero was unharmed and the danger seemed to have passed, they chanted “USA, USA” as he was led away and bundled into a Secret Service SUV.
The former president quickly told the whole story about the shooting and showed up at the first night of the Republican Party convention, receiving a hero’s welcome, with his ear around his neck.
