New York Knicks land NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns in BLOCKBUSTER trade with Minnesota Timberwolves for Julius Randle

The New York Knicks made the move to the NBA this offseason by acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Heading back to Minnesota for the four-time NBA All-Star center is a package that includes Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, per The Athletics.

Considered one of the elite centers in basketball, Towns only played his entire career for the Timberwolves after being drafted No. 1 overall by the team in 2015.

Minutes before news of the transaction surfaced, Towns posted “…” to his X account. Now, any speculation about what gave the former Kentucky star pause has been cleared up.

A first-round pick also appears to be headed to Minnesota as part of the Pistons’ deal that acquired New York.

The Charlotte Hornets would be the third team in this trade as the Knicks look to shape next season’s roster and have another franchise absorb some of their salary. according to ESPN.

The starting five for the Knicks could be as loaded as any other basketball player after Towns is added to the mix.

Towns is joined by Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges.

The Timberwolves advanced further than the Knicks in the postseason last year, with New York losing to the Indiana Pacers in the Conference Semifinals.

Minnesota advanced to the Western Conference Finals, where it was eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks.

The 7-foot-2 Towns is only 28 years old, which means the Knicks can give him a big contract and have him play home games at Madison Square Garden for a decade.

Cities did not appear in the trading bloc before the news surfaced. He seemed to have a great chance to make another deep playoff run with the Timberwolves this season, as Anthony Edwards is the team’s quarterback.
