Daniel Jones’ days in a New York Giants uniform could be numbered after a terrible first season of a four-year mega deal.

Jones was signed to a contract worth $160 million – with $92 million guaranteed – after having the best season of his career in 2022. But last season he was injured in Week 8 and missed the rest of the season.

Fresh off the NFL Scouting Combine, veteran sportscaster Rich Eisen shared rumors he heard from the event — one of which involved the Giants’ signal caller.

“Number three of the top five rumors I’ve heard at the combine is that the Giants are definitely done with Daniel Jones,” Eisen said.

He said they “may have to play him this year, but that’s not it… the words I heard several times at the combine – the two words were: buyer’s remorse.”

Jones played just six games in the 2023 season due to poor performance and an ACL tear

Since being drafted by the Giants with the sixth overall pick in 2019, Jones has played just one full season.

He backed up Eli Manning at the start of the 2019 season and missed games due to injury in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons

In 2022, the Giants started the year by declining Jones’ fifth-year option, but he finished with the best season of his career.

Jones passed for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He was also effective on the ground, rushing for 708 yards and seven touchdowns.

Giants GM Joe Schoen signed him to that four-year, $160 million contract this offseason and it immediately blew up in the team’s face.

He played terribly in the first five games of the season, finishing with a 1-4 record.

After an injury to Tyrod Taylor, he returned to the starting role against the Las Vegas Raiders. But in that match he tore his ACL, which ended his season.

Jones’ 2023 finished with 909 passing yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions on 108 completions.
