A New York City woman went missing on New Year’s Eve after she was last seen on a subway train bound for the city’s Queens borough.
Adamaruis ‘Yuri’ Garcia, 21, of Queens, was last seen on an N train bound for Queens, a train she normally does not take, after leaving work at Rue 57, a French restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. , around 9 pm on December 31.
Garcia, who usually takes the R train, had gotten off a northbound N train at Queensboro Plaza, which serves the N, W and 7 trains, around 11:15 p.m. after hanging out with friends after work. The R train is about a five minute walk from the station.
“She doesn’t normally get off at Queensboro Plaza,” said her cousin Tannia Illescas. CBS 2 New York. ‘Usually don’t do transfers, just take the R [train].’

She was last seen wearing a tight black dress (pictured) and Nike sneakers. She got off the N train at Queensboro Plaza at 11:15 p.m. The police are now investigating to see if she left the station. Her family says she usually takes the R train, which was a five-minute walk from the station she was last seen at.
Her family said her phone battery was low when she got off the train, but the last time she spoke to her boyfriend they agreed that she would meet them at her family home.
However, Garcia never showed up at the apartment.
Another cousin, Jessenia Robles, 20, of Pennsylvania, said nbc news that it was rare for Garcia to go so long without being “active on social media.”
“She has never been gone for a long period of time without anyone knowing,” the relative told the outlet. “I don’t think she was gone for a long period of time, four days without contacting anyone, especially her boyfriend.”
Robles, among several other family members, traveled from Pennsylvania to help relatives in New York City distribute photos of Garcia near the subway station who went missing Wednesday.
Police are trying to determine if Garcia left the station on New Year’s Eve.
The night she disappeared, she was wearing a skintight, long-sleeved black dress and Nike high-top sneakers.
She was on the N train with a friend when she got off and reportedly last spoke to her boyfriend, who made plans to meet her at her parents’ apartment, where she never showed up.
He was working at Rue 57 (pictured) in Midtown Manhattan before he went missing.
The 115-pound girl was officially reported missing Monday and police currently have no updated information on her whereabouts.
Her mother, Amanda Robles, is desperate for answers and tells her Telemundo 47: ‘My daughter, I love and miss her very much. She needs to be here with us.
“Investigators say they are going to go there to find out what happened through the cameras, to check if she got off the train or took another train or what happened.”
“It’s very, very sad to start the year with this news,” said his uncle Carlos Robles, from Pennsylvania.
