Australians preparing for their New Year’s Eve celebrations have been warned to double check when shops are open and closed.
Major retailers across the country will limit their trading hours, while others in some states will close their stores over the New Year period.

Coles
New Year’s Eve: Stores remain open, but closing times vary by location.
New Year’s Day: All stores will be open but closing earlier than expected, except for a location in Tom Price, in WA, and metropolitan stores in SA.
Woolworths
New Year’s Eve: Woolies will continue trading throughout the last day of 2024, but closing times may vary by store.
New Year’s Day: All stores open except Northam, in WA, and metropolitan stores in SA.

New Year’s Eve: Trading hours vary by store.
New Year’s Day: All stores will be open with reduced opening hours, except in South Australia where some stores will be closed.

New Year’s Eve: Malls nationwide have limited opening hours.
New Year’s Day: Centers in the ACT, SA and Waringah Mall, North Sydney, will be closed, while other centers will have limited trading hours.
Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and vintage cellars
New Year’s Eve: Liquor stores are open on New Year’s Eve, but may have limited hours.
New Year’s Day: Open nationwide, with the exception of some in Western Australia.
Coles will remain open both days, except in Tom Price, in WA, and metropolitan stores in SA
