  • She requests to use the brand for ‘printing, banners and posters’

Prince William has sparked speculation that he is planning to host a charity event in America after filing for a trademark, including a customary request for “printed racing numbers.”

The future king, an avid runner who enjoyed an early morning walk in Central Park during his recent visit to New York to promote his Earthshot Prize, filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on May 12 this year to trademark the Available ‘The Royal Foundation’. of the Prince and Princess of Wales.’

The charity, led by William and wife Catherine, “mobilizes leaders, businesses and people so that together we can tackle society’s biggest challenges,” according to its website.

The US trademark application, which lists the Foundation’s address as ‘Kensington Palace, London’, seeks to trademark the Foundation’s name for ‘promotional campaigns, charitable fundraising, educational activities and healthcare services relating to mental health’.

Intriguingly, it calls for use of the trademark for “printed materials, banners and posters….relating to mental health charity activities; printed start numbers, clothing, footwear, headgear.’

A lawyer familiar with trademark applications said: ‘It is highly unusual for ‘printed racing numbers’ to be specifically mentioned.

“Normally the language is fairly broad and inclusive, but if this application specifically mentions race bibs, could that suggest they are thinking about hosting some sort of race or fun run here in the United States?”

The Foundation had a previous trademark application under the name The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate’s titles before the Queen’s death.

But that trademark made no mention of printed running vests.

William, 41, was voted America’s most popular royal in a recent Gallup poll.

The heir apparent had a favorable rating of 60 percent, ahead of King Charles with 46 percent.

His two-day trip to New York last month (September) was seen as a triumph, with thousands of Americans lining up to see him at several public events, including a visit to an oyster farm and a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio. Guterres.

Former New York mayor, billionaire Michael Bloomberg, said: “The prince has clearly won over Americans of all stripes. As we know, that is no small task these days.’

The poll ranked William as America’s most favorite public figure, putting him far ahead of President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

William was “liked and trusted” by 60 percent of Democrats and the same percentage of Republicans.

Mr Bloomberg said: ‘America has not seen such a bipartisan consensus since 1776 (US independence from Britain). But this time we all drink to the king’s health.’

William and Kate are both said to be avid runners.

In 2017, Kate joined joggers representing Heads Together, the mental health initiative led by the Royal Foundation, who were training for the London Marathon.
