New Ritz cracker boxes leaves Coles Australia shoppers shocked

Shopper stunned by ‘annoying’ detail on new supermarket Ritz cracker boxes: ‘This isn’t fair’

  • A Coles customer was not impressed with the small change in the Ritz crackers box
  • The customer has noticed that the box has become smaller
  • But claims that the price has remained the same

A customer was furious after noticing a subtle change in Ritz cracker boxes while shopping at Coles.

The customer shared an image on Twitter comparing the size of two boxes: an older 300g box and the newer 227g box.

Despite the change in size, the woman claims the price has remained the same and was asked to warn other customers.

‘Coles – smaller package, bigger price tag! wtf! Greed, not inflation,” the woman wrote.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mondelez, the company behind Ritz crackers, for comment.

A second customer also noticed the size difference and shared a similar image to the Coles Cooking Club Facebook group.

‘Shrink factor. 300g to 227g,” the woman wrote.

Others joined the conversation and couldn’t believe the price didn’t change.

“Do they really think we won’t notice?” one wrote, the other said, “Prices up, quantities down.”

“Noted this too and was not impressed..at the end of the day the customer is dissatisfied so not sure about the marketing tactics being used here,” a third added.

“This ensures that we can continue to provide the highest quality crackers that our fans know and love.

“We know this will disappoint some, but we are committed to providing Australians with the same high quality and great tasting RITZ Crackers.”
