New research shows how sleeping naked can boost your sex life

If you’re outgoing, enjoy horror, and have an exciting sex life, you’re more likely to sleep in the buff.

Naked sleepers are also more likely to get enough sleep, although strangely they have more nightmares.

A new survey of 2,000 Americans divided respondents into those who sleep naked and those who prefer pajamas, and looked at differences in personalities and behavior.

Those who sleep naked were also slightly more likely to be night owls and more likely to say they were ‘very confident’ than those who sleep in pajamas.

Two-thirds of naked sleepers reported a happy, fulfilled sex life – compared to less than half of those who sleep clothed.

In addition, almost three-quarters of participants who prefer bare eyes said that sleeping this way had improved their sex life with a partner.

According to a recent National Sleep Foundation poll, it’s estimated that about 12 percent of Americans sleep naked.

Naked sleepers are better off in many ways: they are more confident, enjoy a satisfying sex life, and get enough sleep to stay well rested

Naked sleepers were most likely to have Cancer as their zodiac sign, while pajama wearers were most likely to be Capricorns.

Respondents who sleep in pajamas are more likely to watch drama and mystery films, and are more likely to be early risers.

The survey, commissioned by Avocado Green Mattress and conducted by OnePoll, also revealed poor sleep habits across the board.

Regardless of what participants wear (or don’t wear) to sleep, the average respondent wakes up fully rested only half of the week.

They all said they only sleep through the night three times a week on average.

Less than a quarter of respondents are ‘very satisfied’ with their sleep quality, although people who sleep naked are slightly more likely to be satisfied.

People who sleep in pajamas are less likely to be outgoing and prefer dramas to horror movies

“Deep sleep is fundamental to our well-being,” says John Davies, Senior Director of Brand Editorial and Sustainability at Avocado Green Mattress. ‘Whether you prefer to sleep naturally or not, understanding what works best for you is an essential support for our health.’

Fifty-five percent of respondents who sleep naked said they get nightmares, compared to 44 percent of those who wear pajamas. This may have something to do with their taste in movies, as those who sleep naked are bigger fans of horror.

Interestingly, when asked why participants chose to sleep naked, a third indicated environmental reasons.

They claimed this is partly to reduce their carbon footprint or energy consumption, for example by using less air conditioning to keep their room cold while they sleep.
