We expect the Google Pixel Watch to make its full debut on Thursday, October 6 – alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro – but in the meantime, a major leak has revealed a lot more about the upcoming smartwatch.
Seasoned tipster @OnLeaks (opens in new tab) posted the pull, which showcases some of the color options and strap styles we’re looking forward to next week. We also get a few photos of the watch interface and a photo of syncing with a smartphone.
Clock faces are also included in the leak, which cover a variety of different approaches to displaying the time — both in analog and digital formats. Another image shows the watch used to take an EKG reading to assess heart rate.

If the leak is correct, we’ll have four silicone bands on the way: black, gray, white and what appears to be very light green. Leather straps appear to cover black, orange, green and white, while there is also a fabric option in red, black and green.
We already know that the Pixel Watch will work alongside the Fitbit app for logging all your vital stats, and the leaked photos include an image of the Pixel Watch next to the Fitbit app running on an Android phone.

Analysis: a big moment for Google
It’s been quite some time since Google launched itself into a new hardware category, and you could argue that there’s more to the Pixel Watch than the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro – considering Google’s been making phones for years at this point.
While Wear OS has been around for quite some time, Google has left it up to third-party manufacturers and partners to create the actual hardware. Samsung recently made the switch to Wear OS for, for example, the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.
Deciding to continue with its own smartwatch is therefore a big step, and it is clear that Google is jealous of the success of the Apple Watch. It’s the obvious wearable choice for anyone who owns an iPhone, and Google hopes Pixel phones and Pixel Watches will share a similar relationship.
What’s intriguing is how Fitbit fits into it – the company is now run by Google, but so far we haven’t seen many signs of the Fitbit and Pixel lines merging, even if the Pixel Watch is going to bring support for the Fitbit. app .
