New Orleans Pelicans’ stirring tribute to terror attack victims before first NBA home game since tragedy

The Smoothie King Center fell silent Friday night before the Pelicans faced the Wizards — the NBA team’s first home game since the deadly terror attack in New Orleans.

The crowd remembered the fourteen people who died in the early hours of New Year’s Day, including Matthew Tenedorio who worked for both the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.

A moment of silence was held before Friday’s match to show respect for those affected when Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove his truck into a crowd of revelers.
