New Nova host Lauren Phillips reveals her former employer KIIS FM’s shock act after she got sacked to make way for Kyle and Jackie O

Lauren Phillips had some nice words for her former employer KIIS FM on Sunday after recently ‘liking’ one of her social media posts.

The new Nova FM presenter, 42, and her co-star Jase Hawkins were fired from KIIS last year to make way for the launch of The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Melbourne on April 29.

Phillips shared a screenshot on Instagram capturing her social media notification feed, which showed KIIS FM recently “liking” a video she posted.

She didn’t hesitate when she revealed what she thought of her former employer’s actions.

“This feels like an ex-boyfriend sliding into the DMs,” she wrote, adding a laughing emoji.

Luckily, Phillips and Hawkins are no longer out of work as their Jase and Lauren breakfast show was picked up by rival station Nova FM in February.

It comes after Jase and Lauren slammed their former employers at KIIS FM after their Melbourne show was canceled to make way for The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

In their first show for Nova FM, Jase said he was ‘sting’ that The Jase and Lauren Show was being replaced by a ‘networking from Sydney’ programme.

‘Melbourne deserves better… That’s how it was handled. And not just for us, but for everyone who worked on the show,” he said at the time.

Lauren seemed just as miffed as her partner on air, saying: ‘It hasn’t been discussed with us. It was like we were being talked about, but no one was talking to us.”

Jase and Lauren recorded their last KIIS FM show on December 1.

Lauren didn’t hold back when she revealed how she felt about her former employer’s actions

In November, Sydney-based radio duo Kyle and Jackie O signed a record-breaking 10-year deal worth $200 million that will keep them on air until 2034.

At the time, an ARN spokesperson confirmed to Ny Breaking Australia that the deal for the Sydney duo meant their work friends Jase and Lauren were unemployed.

Jase and Lauren had their first show together on KIIS FM in 2021, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Meanwhile, The Kyle and Jackie O premiered with a bang in Melbourne on Monday, opening their wild first show with plenty of swearing and frank discussion.
