Sian Welby will make her return to broadcasting this summer, just weeks after giving birth to her daughter Ruby.
The 37-year-old presenter is set to return to television sooner than expected, with it announced that the new mother will present a number of summer episodes of ITV’s This Morning while presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take a seven-week break.
Sian and her fiancé Jake Beckett welcomed Ruby, their first child, in June. Sian has since said that becoming a mother was ‘the best thing she’s ever done’.
While the Capital Radio star has yet to reveal when she gave birth to her newborn, she revealed in an Instagram post on June 29 that Ruby had been born.
Sian shared her happy baby news along with a bunch of adorable snaps, writing: ‘Our little Ruby [love heart emojis]’.

In early June, Sian confirmed that Jordan North would replace her as This Morning’s showbiz correspondent after she went on maternity leave.
The TV star celebrated her final day with the announcement, admitting: “I think I’ve pushed it as far as I can before I succumb.”
During her final appearance on the ITV daytime show before she gave birth to a baby girl, presenter Ben Shephard said: “First up, it’s time for some showbiz news. Sian is here for your very last date with us before you go into labour.”
Sian replied: ‘Yes, exactly. I think I’ve pushed it to the limit without having to give birth on this couch!’
She continued: ‘I know that showbiz news has to be in good hands and with someone who deals with showbiz stories every morning and works with me most mornings when I work on the radio…
“This is the handover of all handovers! I really think he’s the perfect guy for the job, I work with him every morning and he’s fantastic. It’s Jordan North everyone!”
To the delight of viewers, Sian made a virtual return to the studio on July 1, in her first remote TV appearance since giving birth
She said, ‘I’m tired, I’m overjoyed, but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m absolutely ecstatic!’

Jordan, 34, then joined Ben, co-host Cat Deeley and Sian in the studio, saying: ‘I’ve got a new shirt for this and everything!’
Ben joked: ‘This is the handover in show business, like the relay race!’ Sian joked: ‘This is like the baton at the Olympics.’
Cat said to Jordan, “We’ll make sure you get an extra plate of food every week!”
Jordan added: ‘Absolutely, I’m just a substitute for the summer, that’s all.’
Sian told Ben and Cat: ‘I’m so glad it’s Jordan. You’re brilliant and he’s the perfect man for the job, we have so much fun at Capital.’
At the end of the program, the presenting duo Ben and Cat gave the expectant mother a baby suit as a gift, which she seemed very happy with.

‘I’m loving every second of it, even though it’s a bit of a mess sometimes. Jake filmed me holding her and I said, “I can’t believe I’m meeting you, it feels like a dream!”
She said she ended up having an emergency C-section, despite initially planning a water birth.
Sian explains: ‘I said I would do whatever was safest for the baby’s delivery.
‘I planned a water birth but ended up having an emergency c-section. I felt so safe that I was in great hands. The midwives are really great but of course I feel quite stiff.’
Of her supportive partner Jake, she added: ‘He’s such a natural – you fall in love with your partner all over again. He’s taken over when he needed to.
‘He supported me when I needed it and also when I was emotional.’
Sian’s upcoming return to This Morning comes as Cat and Ben take a seven-week break, just four months after landing the job.
