New Lisa Curry photos spark concern among her fans as she is rushed to intensive care: ‘You don’t realise what you take for granted’
Lisa Curry spent a few nights in intensive care after complications from a hip replacement.
The 61-year-old Olympian shared several images of herself in hospital on Thursday after injuring herself in Yukon, Canada.
Lisa explained that she had a hip replacement about four weeks ago and had spent time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) treating low blood pressure.
Last January, she was injured during a husky dog sledding trip. A slip on the ice caused her to fall and break her hip.
“The huskies went across the ice with no problem, but the sled kept sliding and sliding,” Lisa explained.

She went on to say that the sled dogs will “keep going” if you let go of the ropes.
“You can’t let go of the sled because the dogs keep going,” she said.
“So I held on and held on until I couldn’t hold on anymore and ended up still falling while holding on to the sled which immediately put on the brakes so the dogs stopped… and fell on my hip.”
Lisa said her hip had been hurting all year, but at first she thought it was muscular.
Only after a CT scan did she see that her hip had a bone fracture in the ball and socket joint.

Lisa thanked daughter Morgan (photo) for driving around
“I couldn’t get it operated on before our European and American tours, so I lived on painkillers for that 10-week trip,” she said.
Lisa assured that she is on the mend and is starting to swim again, but she has also had to learn to walk without a limp after the procedure.
‘Learning to walk without a limp, performing simple tasks again. But boy, you don’t realize how many things you take for granted – putting on a sock or underwear is like dressing a wriggly, wet octopus!! So exhausting,” she said.

She then thanked her husband Mark for “putting up with her,” as well as her daughter Morgan, who drove her around so she could still work.
Lisa’s fans wished the former Olympian a speedy recovery.
“Quick recovery legend,” one fan wrote.
‘Oh Lisa, what an adventure that was for you. Sending you healing vibes, Dad just had a hip replacement two weeks ago. It was so good to see his recovery, finally out of the pain he was in. Lots of love to you,” another wrote.

It comes after Lisa, who lost daughter Jaimi three years ago, shared a heartbreaking tribute in September.
‘Three years ago our beautiful daughter Jaimi breathed her last. We all love and miss you every day. It feels like yesterday,” she captioned the photos.
‘It was a sad week, in which I needed a lot of hugs and constantly wiped away my tears. I tell myself to breathe, it’s a bad day, not a bad life.’
“I need to change that conversation to be more positive and give myself permission that it’s okay to move on. Moving on doesn’t mean letting go. I will never let her go.
‘Am I okay? Yes, maybe, sometimes, no… Depends on the day,” she added.
