New extended footage shows Jurgen Klopp in face-to-face square-up with TV reporter – and asking ‘what’s wrong with you’ in a tense exchange after his ‘stupid question’ – before Liverpool boss appears to pull away microphone
Jurgen Klopp asked a television reporter ‘what’s wrong with you’ in a tense confrontation after angrily storming out of an interview following Liverpool’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United.
The Liverpool manager took umbrage at a question about his side’s intensity from Danish V Sports commentator Niels Christian Frederiksen, calling it ‘stupid’.
Klopp added that he was “very disappointed” by the question, as he pointed to the number of games Liverpool have played recently.
The German then told the reporter ‘you’re clearly not in top form’ before storming off. New footage of the aftermath shows how their conversation went.
“What a question you’re talking about…what’s wrong with you? What did you want now?’ Klopp asks after sailing past Frederiksen.

But Klopp had already left the broadcast position, leaving the reporter standing while the camera continued recording. He also appeared to reach for the microphone before walking away.
It came after United dashed Klopp’s hopes of signing off at Anfield with a quadruple of the trophy after Amad Diallo’s dramatic late winner in extra time sealed a 4-3 victory for United.
In the interview on the Viaplay network in Scandinavia, Frederiksen asked: “Normally intensity is a big part of your game, so how come it was so difficult in extra time?”
Klopp replied: ‘That’s a bit of a stupid question. If you see us often, you can ask us the other times why we have so much energy.
‘I don’t know how many games we’ve played recently and how many Manchester United have had. That’s sports.
“I’m very disappointed with that question, but you clearly liked it.”
The reporter then added, “So too many games?”
A furious Klopp replied: ‘Oh, you don’t think so. Come on! You’re clearly not in great shape and I don’t have any nerves for you.’ That then led to the additional confrontation.
Klopp apparently took offense to a question criticizing his team’s intensity in extra time
Liverpool led United 2-1 and 3-2 in a thrilling FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford before goals from Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo in the second half of extra time put United through.
Although Liverpool’s FA Cup hopes have been dashed, they can still add the Premier League title and the UEFA Europa League to the Carabao Cup they won last month.
When asked about possible fatigue in his squad ahead of the international break, Klopp added: ‘I hope the (international managers) want them to be in the best shape for the summer.
‘So I hope they don’t have to play ninety minutes twice. But it’s out of my hands.’
The Reds return to action on March 31 when they travel to Brighton, with Klopp’s side currently second in the Premier League behind Arsenal on goal difference.
The Reds looked to be cruising to victory at Old Trafford, with goals from Mohamed Salah and Alexis Mac Allister looking like they would be enough before Antony’s equalizer late in regular time.

Klopp complained in his post-match press conference about his side’s looseness in front of goal
Harvey Elliott’s deflected effort put them ahead again in extra time, before Marcus Rashford and then Amad Diallo secured United’s most dramatic victory.
During his post-match press conference, Klopp complained about his side’s wastefulness when he was ahead in the match.
“We didn’t finish the game,” he said. “If you leave the door open, away from home at Old Trafford, it’s clear they would get chances.
‘It was really difficult for us. That was the first time I really saw my team… phew… really struggle.
“If you’re winning, this is a great position to watch a game. When you lose, that’s the worst feeling.’
