New England Patriots reporter says the team is on the brink of ‘mutiny’ after their poor start to the season
A reporter working for the New England Patriots has bizarrely revealed that the team is already ‘teetering on mutiny’ after a poor start to the season.
The Patriots, now coached by Jerod Mayo following the departure of Bill Belichick earlier this year, are 1-3 after four weeks.
They started the season well with a shocking win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but have since suffered losses to the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett is also underperforming, while rookie Drake Maye lurks in the background.
They play at home on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, who are also struggling, but a Patriots insider has revealed that the mood in the locker room is tense.

“Right now, they’re teetering on mutiny in that locker room,” Evan Lazar, a senior reporter for Patriots.com, said on the “Catch 22” podcast, which is on the team’s own website.
“And I don’t want to be an alarmist or… [be hyperbolic]…I don’t. But I was in that locker room on Sunday after the game. The defense is angry at the defense.
“The offense is mad at the offense. You have young receivers literally throwing tantrums on film.”
Speaking of the quarterback situation, Lazar continued, “You’re at the point now with 52 other guys in that locker room who all watch both quarterbacks practice every day.
“They all know they put Drake Maye third overall. And at what point do some of these guys say to themselves, “Why do I go out there and get my ass kicked every Sunday and Drake can’t do that?”

“For example, why am I going out with a quarterback who can’t get me the football, when we have the Ferrari back in the garage that can get me the football?
Leader Rhamondre Stevenson, who started his season with a promising 120-yard performance on the ground against the Bengals, has struggled to keep hold of the ball.
He has one fumble in each of his four games, two of which have been recovered by opposing defenses. Because of these issues, Antonio Gibson could serve as RB1 on Sunday.
Whoever starts at running back will have to work behind an offensive line that is now without center David Andrews.
The nine-year veteran will require shoulder surgery that will likely sideline him for the rest of the season.
