New documents ‘credibly show’ that Covid DID leak from Wuhan lab and that China covered it up, House Republicans say

US lawmakers say they have seen new ‘credible’ information that Covid leaked from a Chinese laboratory and that Beijing covered it up.

They also claim to have seen strong evidence that the Chinese military was involved in experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

Members of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic have seen the details in classified documents from the U.S. Department of State, which advises the president on foreign policy.

The committee’s chairman, Brad Wenstrup, an Ohio Republican, has called for the information to be released “immediately” and unredacted to give the public “a more complete picture of the government’s evidence regarding the origins of the Covid pandemic.”

The above is the letter that Representative Brad Wenstrup, a Republican from Ohio, wrote to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken requesting the release of redacted documents related to the investigation into the origins of Covid-19.

The organization US Right to Know wrote that the documents contain evidence of connections between the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and WIV - the laboratory where Covid is believed to have originated.

In 2018, scientists attempted to create a new virus with characteristics closely matching those of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid, which some say serves as a blueprint for Covid – and the resulting pandemic.

He said the documents, first released in redacted versions in June 2023, contained information that “credibly suggests” that Covid emerged from a laboratory accident in Wuhan, that the Chinese government obstructed the investigation into the matter and that it Chinese military was involved in experiments taking place at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Rep. Wenstrup letter stated: ‘As mounting evidence continues to point to a laboratory-related accident in Wuhan, China as the likely cause of the COVID-19 pandemic, safely removing these unnecessary redactions is a step toward transparency and accountability.

“We write to you today requesting that you take immediate steps to release this information so that the American people can have a more complete picture of the government’s evidence regarding the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

In February 2023, the subcommittee requested information from the State Department on the investigation into the origins of Covid, but lawmakers only recently reviewed classified versions.

The documents are telegrams from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and include emails and internal discussions about secret research at the WIV.

Nearly all of the information in the cables, including the contents of emails and contacts of senders and recipients, has been redacted.

Because the public versions are so heavily edited, it’s difficult to determine exactly what’s in them.

However, the limited information seems to indicate that the US had evidence that the WIV was conducting risky experiments on the military, and that Chinese officials had more information about the virus than they admitted.

In Rep. Wenstrup’s letter, he wrote that the documents contained “numerous, highly suggestive subject lines,” including: “The initial outbreak could have been contained in China if Beijing had not covered it up.”

Others said: ‘(Redacted) says PRC central government – not local officials – is responsible for coronavirus cover-up’ and ‘Beijing knew before they admitted.’

Some report the Chinese government’s cover-up, propaganda and disinformation campaigns.

And others show a possible connection between the WIV and PLA, including: “Official Chinese websites show robust cooperation between WIV and PLA (Academy of Military Medical Sciences).”

It was recently revealed that US officials may have sent taxpayer money to fund such risky research at the Chinese laboratory despite knowing the military was involved.

Disgraced researcher Dr. Peter Daszak suggested to the subcommittee that the U.S. intelligence community was aware of coronavirus experiments conducted at the WIV years before the pandemic.

And the government sent money to the Chinese facility despite concerns that the Chinese government would use it to manufacture potential bioweapons, according to Dr. Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, a New York-based research group that funneled U.S. taxpayer money to the WIV.

Asked whether he knew whether US intelligence was aware that the laboratory was being used to carry out such work, Dr Daszak said: “I think two agencies have low to moderate confidence that any activity has taken place.”

He added: ‘The other agencies were unable to comment.’

While there have been multiple revelations regarding the origins of Covid that point to a lab leak, a theory the FBI supports, there has yet to be a smoking gun of definitive evidence showing that the pandemic was caused by a virus manufactured in a Chinese laboratory.
