An old tweet from Brittany Mahomes has come to light after she continues to face criticism for liking a post from Donald Trump.
On Friday, Patrick Mahomes’ wife was widely criticized by fans after liking a post by the former president on Instagram. Eagle-eyes users spotted the expectant mother of three double-tapping a post that outlined 16 of Trump’s policies as he made a second attempt at the White House.
However, the resurfaced tweet shows that Mahomes was unhappy with Trump during his presidency and that athletes took a knee during the national anthem at the height of their protest against racial injustice.
“Trump, you have offended way too many people,” she wrote on September 24, 2017.
While it’s unclear what she was referring to with her tweet, Trump railed against the way players kneeling during the national anthem was dragging down the NFL’s ratings.

Mahomes responded calmly on Instagram, where she fired back at her critics.
“Honestly, if you are a hater as an adult you must have deep rooted issues that you are not willing to heal as a child,” she wrote.
“There’s no reason why your brain is already fully developed and you find it annoying to see others doing well.”
