New research from Victoria University of Wellington focuses on applying machine learning models to improve emergency response times.
Backed by a grant from the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the research is developing ML models that reportedly analyze an emergency situation and its urgency to determine which ambulance can respond appropriately to an event. Minimize response times.
βThere is a clear link between patient mortality and response times. Our goal is to improve the average response times of our emergency services to better utilize existing resources and ensure they are available to those who need them most. Combines 3D total body, AI for faster melanoma screening
The Australian Cancer Research Foundation’s Australian Centre of Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis is conducting a study to test whether a combination of AI and 3D whole-body photography will accelerate and improve skin cancer imaging.
Backed by A$3 million ($2 million) in funding from the Australian Federal Government’s Medical Research Future Fund, the project aims to improve skin cancer detection in regional and rural communities, where less than a tenth of dermatologists the country practices..
According to a press release, the project, which is also intended to inform the development of a national melanoma screening program, will be implemented in nine regional hospitals and health centers in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Telstra Health offers remote pregnancy solutions
Telstra Health and digital maternity care company HeraMED have entered into a partnership to provide GPs with remote maternity care solutions.
HeraMED’s HeraCARE will be a new addition to Telstra Health’s Smart Connected Care, the single gateway to digital healthcare solutions to streamline workflows and connect care.
According to a press release, HeraCARE will first have a soft launch with a group of GPs using Telstra Health, with a full rollout taking place later this year.
This partnership continues to build HeraMED’s first integration with Telstra Health’s MedicalDirector in November last year.
