Netflix has announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deepa brand new animated set in the Witcher-Verse starring everyone’s favorite monster hunter Geralt.
Unveiled during the Geeked Week 2023 celebrations, The witcher‘s latest spin-off project is sure to make waves on Netflix when it releases in late 2024. In news that will certainly be enjoyed for a long time Witcher fans, Sirens of the deep sees iconic voice actor Doug Cockle reprise his role as Geralt, who voiced the character in CD Projekt RED’s Witcher Computer Games.
“I’m super excited about my return to the world of The witcher in which he voices Geralt of Rivia again, but this time in the upcoming animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the DeepCockle said in a statement. “It was an honor to work with Studio Mir and Netflix on this new animated film and I’m thrilled to share this next chapter of the White Wolf’s journey with fans of the Witcher universe. Mire taedh aen straede!”
As well as the reveal of the title of his latest Witcher production, Netflix has released a number of first-look videos that tease Sirens of the deep‘s story. First, watch the announcement trailer, which confirms that Geralt is the protagonist of the story:
Look The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep‘s official teaser, which features different footage than the aforementioned announcement trailer:
You won’t be able to tell much about the plot from those trailers, so it’s a good thing Netflix provided more details about the story in Sirens of the deep‘s personal explosion.
“Geralt of Rivia, a mutant monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a coastal town and becomes embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople,” reads the story synopsis. “He must rely on friends – old and new – to solve the mystery before hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.”
Sirens of the deep is based on the short story ‘A Little Sacrifice’ by Andrezj Sapkowski, so certain fans of the acclaimed author’s book The witcher book series will already know this story. ‘A Little Sacrifice’ is one of the stories that make up the book ‘Sword of Destiny’, also called the second novel in the series, which suggests Sirens of the deep will be a pre-sequel movie set The witcher season 1 and The witcher season 2.
Christina Wren (Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice) joins Cockle as a voice actor as Essi Daven, a female bard with ties to Jaskier – or, as he’s known in The witcher books, Dandelion.

Perhaps even more surprising is Joey Batey, who played Jaskier The witcher seasons 1 through 3, as well The Witcher: Blood Originreturns to voice the musician Sirens of the deep. Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer of Vengerberg in Netflix’s hit live-action series, is also back to lend her vocal talents to Yennefer’s animated form in this film. The couple’s performance in The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep lends even more weight to the fact that it’s set between the first and second seasons of one of Netflix’s best shows – or at least around season 1, when Geralt was first introduced to the duo.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is the second animated spin-off film set in Netflix’s Witcher-Verse; the first is that of 2021 Nightmare of the Wolf, starring Geralt’s mentor Vesemir. It is also probably the only project that keeps us going The witcher Season 4, which is in active development, lands on the world’s top streaming service. Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra) is responsible for the animation.
Unfortunately, Henry Cavill will not be returning to play Geralt The witcher season 4. When the show was renewed in October 2022, Netflix and Cavill confirmed that he was leaving for pastures new, with Liam Hemsworth (The hunger Games) stepping into the role – and considering how popular Cavill’s portrayal of Geralt was, these are big boots to fill.
