Netflix's Single's Inferno, the Archer finale, The Gilded Age and more new TV this week

We're losing two great entries in the TV memes category this week: the first is The Gilded Age, which has taken over That show is wrapping up its second season, with a possible season 3 on the horizon.

This week also marks the end of Archerthe legendary FX comedy that has brought many 'phrasing' and 'Danger Zone' jokes to the internet over the years, and is now coming to an end with 14 seasons under its belt.

But don't cry too long: for starters, there is new TV, included What brave girls, which promises to have lots of great gags and screencap capabilities. Here's that and all the other big TV premieres and finales this week:

New shows on Netflix

Single's Inferno season 3

Genre: Reality competition
Date of publication: 12 December
Showrunners/creators: Kim Jae Won and Kim Na Hyun
Form: A bunch of hot singles ready to hook up

What can sum up the appeal of? Singles Inferno better than how my colleague Nicole Clark puts it? “Singles Inferno adds a bit of humanity to a genre I thought I would never be interested in again.” It's nine people sitting next to each other, awkwardly trying to flirt and bond with each other! I wish them the best of luck and I look forward to season 3 of this wonderful show.

The Crown season 6 part 2

Genre: Historical drama
Date of publication: December 14, with all episodes
Showrunner/creator: Peter Morgan
Form: Imelda Staunton, Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Dominic West, Elizabeth Debicki, Jonny Lee Miller, Olivia Williams and more

The crown returns for the final four episodes, focusing on life after Diana (that The crown covered in the four episodes of Part 1 of Season 6 in November). Now Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton) is reflecting on her legacy, some forty years into her reign – and, along with it, all the things her family has had to endure because of their role.

Carol and the End of the World

Genre: Animated apocalyptic comedy
Date of publication: December 15, with all episodes
Showrunner/creator: Dan Guterman
Form: Martha Kelly, Beth Grant, Lawrence Pressman and more

Bad news: a planet is hurtling towards Earth. This will of course mean that humanity (and every other creature on the planet) is in danger of extinction, prompting many people to fuck off and indulge in hedonistic pleasures. But one woman struggles to embrace the coming end as she searches for meaning in her final months on earth.

New shows on Hulu

What brave girls

Genre: Comedy
Date of publication: December 15, with all episodes
Showrunner/creator: Kat Sadler
Form: Kat Sadler, Louise Brealey, Lizzie Davidson and more

This is a British sitcom about a dysfunctional family, in which sisters Josie and Billie live their lives with boys, dancing and their single mother Deb. Fortunately for us – albeit unluckily for them – they have comically poor judgment and questionable self-esteem. As the trailer shows, it's a powerful comedy mix that will definitely be high on my end-of-year recommendation list.

Archer: In the cold

Genre: Raunchy spy comedy (final)
Date of publication: December 17
Showrunner/creator: Adam Reed
Form: H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell, Adam Reed and more

The greatest superspy to ever live in a TacticalNeck™ is retiring; Archer, after 14 years on the air, is coming to a close with a final special on FX (on Hulu). But he's not going out without a fight (phrasing): The UN is banning espionage, forcing Archer and his team to work outside the law to catch the latest villain.

Photo: Manolo Pavon/HBO

Genre: Numismatic horror
Date of publication: December 11
Showrunner/creator: Alex de la Iglesia
Form: Eduard Fernández, Megan Montaner, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Paul Giamatti and more

One of TV's creepiest shows is wrapping up its bad second season after spending much of it in literal hell so far. Will the 30 coins be redistributed? Will Elena and Paco find peace? Will Christian Barrow bring about the apocalypse? Will Father Vergara take a damn shower? These answers, and more, await us.

Based on the Reacher novel Bad luck and problemsseason 2 of Reacher sees everyone's favorite detective tackle a case that is a little more personal this time. You see, his army friends are being picked off one by one, so the big man will have to give up his lonely ways and team up with his old friends to get to the bottom of things.

Genre: A cool period piece
Date of publication: December 14
Showrunner/creator: Katherine Jakeways
Form: Kristine Froseth, Imogen Waterhouse, Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Mia Threapleton, Christina Hendricks and more

When a few plucky American girls went to visit their boyfriend in England for a season (here we mean both season 1 and the courtship season), they hardly expected the clash of cultures they got. Now, so many episodes later, they're going to end their adventures with – hopefully – only happy (or at least open) endings.
