Netflix managed to push buttons after enraging viewers and fans on Thursday with a steamy clip from its new series Supersex.
The streaming service posted a scene from the Italian series lasting just a few seconds on Instagram, but that was enough to get users complaining in the comments about the over-the-top sexual content.
The short video featured the star of the show, Italian actor Alessandro Borghi, kissing and bumping into several scantily clad women.
However, the clip disappeared from Netflix US’s Instagram account after a few hours, although it is unclear whether the platform removed it due to user complaints, or if Netflix chose to remove it due to negative feedback from fans.
The controversial new series, which has already outraged some Netflix subscribers, is a biographical drama based on the life of famous Italian adult actor Rocco Siffredi, 59.

Commentators condemned both Netflix – for releasing Supersex – and Instagram – for allowing the clip to be posted.
Borghi was pictured shirtless – but wearing pants – sitting on a red sofa while a scantily clad woman straddled his lap and kissed him passionately.
At least four other women surrounded the couple at their sides, leaning in to kiss Borghi or caress the woman on top of him.
Although Borghi and the woman bounced up and down on him, it was not clear that the two would have sex, and all the characters appeared to be clothed, if only barely.
‘Do we now also have porn on Netflix? Cancel account while we talk, my kids can’t see this,” wrote one irate user.
‘Are we just making porn mainstream now?’ wrote user. “It’s quite sickening that there’s no warning for this kind of explicit content.”
They also complained that women who post photos or videos of breastfeeding are often flagged, even though that content is technically acceptable under Instagram’s rules.
“You’re taking away from all the quality shows you have,” they added.
“Um… I just opened Instagram,” one person wrote, echoing a popular complaint.

Some commenters even run wild and rare scenarios to explain why the clip was so offensive to them.
“Imagine you’ve been an ex-p*rn addict for a few years and then you open Instagram and see this,” one user lamented. “It can definitely trigger something in the back of your mind to just go and have a look and then go back to where you were. thanks to “netflix & chill” here.’
Many called out Instagram for allowing the content, and several upset users also complained that their posts complaining about the death toll in Israel’s attacks on Palestine were censored, but Netflix’s vulgar post was not.
‘Do better IG; not everyone wants to see this, it should be subject to the same rules as genocide, post with a warning and the option to see it anyway,” one commenter added.
