Netflix and CD Projekt Red are returning to Night City for a new Cyberpunk animated series, the two companies announced Thursday during Netflix’s Geeked Week event. Details about the untitled project are scarce, but what Netflix and CDProjekt Red have to say have not What is being said about the new anime may be telling.
The new animation project does not mention Cyberpunk: Edgerunnerswhich means that whatever Netflix and CDPR are cooking up, it might not be a sequel to that 2022 series, but something new. The announcement also doesn’t mention Studio Trigger, the anime studio behind Edge RunnersInstead, the teaser credits Netflix Animation, the streamer’s in-house studio that co-produces and develops animated films, sometimes with outside studios.
Netflix and CD Projekt Red promise that more information about the new Cyberpunk anime will be coming soon, so hopefully we’ll get an answer to the question of who’s making the anime soon.
