Netflix’s Bridgerton season 3 part 2 trailer teases a surprising new detail about the show’s budding romance

The long-awaited trailer for part two of Bridgerton season three has finally arrived and contains some clues about the future of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)’s love story in the hit Netflix series.

Their romance has been affectionately referred to as “Polin” by fans since Penelope began pining for her long-term crush over the past two seasons. Fast forward to Bridgerton season three and their friendship turned into a love affair that has captured the hearts of fans, also earning it a spot on our list of the best Netflix shows.

Of course, fans of the show will know that Penelope leads a double life as the anonymous gossip writer Lady Whistledown – a secret that only she and her former friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) know and which was first hinted at in Bridgerton season one.

In the trailer (see below), gossip quickly circulates about Penelope and Colin’s engagement after he proposed at the end of part one of season three. Everyone is thrilled with the news, but Eloise is definitely not thrilled at the prospect of seeing her brother marry someone who is hiding such a big secret about her true self.

As Eloise threatens to expose Penelope’s secret activities and derail their engagement, fans are especially fascinated by a hidden detail that could be an integral part of Polin’s love story.

Secrets, scandals and a surprising new house

The subtle detail in question is at the 0:47 second mark in the trailer, where Penelope and Colin embrace in a large room with sheets on the wall and mirrors. Their royal furnishings are surrounded by mountains of suitcases, making it seem as if they have only just moved into the sprawling property.

Since it is not the Bridgerton or Featherington households, fans have speculated (see post below) that this could in fact be Colin’s Bloomsbury residence talked about in Julia Quinn’s novel Romantic Mr. Bridgerton.

In the book, Colin and Penelope move to a house in Bloomsbury and have four children. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see if this part of their story will impact the second half of the series, especially since Colin and Penelope also have four children in the book.

If it were Colin’s new home, this would be the first time we see the infamous Bloomsbury house. Could this be the moment Colin finally finds his ‘home’ with Penelope? We’ll have to wait until June 13 to find out.
