Netflix viewers slam second season of true crime doc for being ‘maddening’ to watch

Season 2 of a “frustrating,” blood-curdling true crime documentary on Netflix has shocked streamers.

X (formerly Twitter) users have been criticizing parts of the second season of the docuseries Worst Roommate Ever since its release on June 26.

In this true crime documentary, shocked new tenants share horror stories about their former roommates.

“Every episode of worst roommate ever is an absolute nightmare,” said one X user tweeted on June 30th.

One episode that X users haven’t gotten over, however, was the first episode of Season 2, which told the story of a friendship that took a toxic turn.

The true crime documentary Worst Roommate Ever had new characters share their horror stories with their former roommates

In episodes of Worst Roommate Ever, various horror stories are told about roommates. One of them is about a roommate who has become a criminal, Janie Ridd.

Ridd and Rachel became roommates after being good friends for over 20 years.

Ridd became jealous of her good friend, but took responsibility for her after Rachel gave birth to her son Ryder in 2010.

However, Ridd saw it as her only duty to care for the boy.

The would-be criminal later purchased a staph bacteria called VRSA on the dark web in 2019 after her attempt to gain full custody of Ryder failed.

She used the bacteria to poison Rachel. After being charged with aggravated assault on a vulnerable adult, attempted aggravated assault on a vulnerable adult and attempted acquisition of a biological weapon, she served only 25 months in prison.

In a phone call from the Salt Lake County Jail, seen in the documentary, Ridd indicated she would like to retain custody of Ryder.

Several X-users have expressed their anger over Ridd’s punishment, as many feel it is too lenient.

“How the f*** could she get parole when there’s a recording of her in prison where she says very clearly that she would try to take her child if she got out,” said one X user tweeted this morning.

Other X users who were angry about the events partly blamed Rachel for what had happened. One person even called her an “idiot.”

“I’m not one to blame the victim, but when I watch Worst Roommate Ever on Netflix, this woman is honestly very naive,” one person said wrote on June 29th.

Social media users have also been posting comments en masse praising the final season of Worst Roommate Ever.

“The show is very well done. I like the concept of using animation to reenact events, which is better than some people who look a bit like the subjects,” wrote one user on Rotten Tomatoes.

An X user tweeted: ‘This show is good if you like true crime. I’m so thankful I live alone.’

In addition to the stressful stories that Netflix viewers can listen to, some also have their own horror stories about roommates, ranging from minor problems to psychotic tendencies.

“The new Netflix series reminds me of the worst roommate I’ve ever had, even though it wasn’t even his direct fault,” said one X user tweeted.

“His girlfriend always sounded like a dying goat when they had sex in our four-bedroom apartment with cardboard walls, and they had a lot of sex.”

Another X user who saw the documentary said she was “obsessed with it” and had an interesting story of her own about her roommate.

“I got a whole story about the time I had a roommate. She tried to kill my cat. Seriously,” the X user tweeted.

A person wrote: ‘I’m watching Worst Roommate Ever on Netflix and I’m so thankful that the worst thing that’s ever happened to me is my roommate who used to leave the dishes in the sink and eat my cereal.’

“Worst Roommate Ever S2E1 makes me so angry,” wrote another.
