The Netflix original film Deep Fear has been devastated by viewers.
The survival thriller chronicles the lives of storm-stricken drug traffickers who force a sailor to retrieve their sunken cocaine stash from shark-infested waters.
Set on a Caribbean island, the film stars Hollywood heartthrob Ed Westwick, Romanian actress Mådãlina Ghenea and Spanish actress Macarena Gómez.
But the film has only managed a shocking 13 percent audience rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Viewers were unimpressed with the film, citing “wooden acting” as a factor, but were still captivated by TV hunk Ed’s charming looks.
Netflix original film Deep Fear has been savaged by viewers, with some saying the only redeeming factor is TV hunk Ed Westwick’s charming looks.
One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: “We’ve all seen bad shows on Netflix.
‘Horrible even. But Deep Fear represents such a total failure of human creativity and professionalism that it requires us to embrace machine-created content.”
They even went so far as to say, “It destroys your faith in art made by humans. It makes you long for AI’.
Others added: ‘Anyone who opposes the role of AI in entertainment – I ask you to watch the first 10 minutes of ‘Deep Fear’ on Netflix’; ‘How can AI have a worse dialogue? Can CGI actors be more wooden and inhumane? This is such a profoundly bad show that it forces a philosophical debate.”
“Deep Fear might be the worst movie on Netflix,” “I’m trying to watch Deep Fear on Netflix, but I keep pausing it for TikTok”; ‘Deep Fear is new on Netflix today and I have to say it’s pretty bad…’; “The craziest thing about Deep Fear on @Netflix is that she survives days at sea, multiple deep dives, and shark attacks… but her entire Smokey-eye is flawless.”
But some were more fixated on Ed, saying, “Deep Fear was so good, definitely worth checking out. & it has Ed Westwick? definitely 10/10′; “Chuck Bass is in this new ‘Deep Fear’ movie on Netflix.” “Ed Westwick is currently watching Deep Fear and it’s still going strong what,” and one fan of the film wrote, “Deep Fear on Netflix was a cool little movie.”
