Netflix viewers left ‘so upset’ after hit real estate reality show is suddenly axed amid ‘production cost’ struggles

The series Buying Beverly Hills has been canceled after only two seasons.

The Netflix reality show followed Mauricio Umansky, the estranged husband of Real Housewives star Kyle Richards, as he runs a real estate agency that specializes in selling luxury goods, similar to Selling Sunset.

Mauricio starred in the series, along with his daughters Farrah and Alexia. The second series of episodes aired in March.

But, Term reports that the sudden cancellation is a result of “viewership figures versus production costs.”

Fans were quick to voice their opinions on social media, with some even saying they were “surprised” by the news.

Someone wrote: ‘I’m surprised the Beverly Hills purchase was canceled’ (sic)

Another said: ‘what Netflix cancelled the purchase of Beverly Hills’ and added a tear emoji.

A third was furious: ‘Oh my god this makes me so angry that @netflix wouldn’t start season 3 of Buying Beverly Hills. Damn I love this family so much.

“They are so good at what they do. I love this show and wanted to learn more about the housing industry.”

The final season chronicled the ups and downs of Mauricio and his famous wife’s marriage, ultimately leading to their split.

At one point, he explained to his daughters that while he tried “everything possible” to save their marriage, Kyle needed “space” and allowed him to date other people, but on the condition that they not talk about it.

In a clip from the show’s season two premiere, he told his daughters, “I had 26 wonderful years with your mother and I wanted to do everything I could to save it. Your mother came and she talked to me and said, ‘I think I need space.

Fans were quick to voice their opinions on social media, with some saying they were “surprised” by the news, while another was furious that they were “so upset” about the cancellation.

The exes married in 1996. In addition to 35-year-old Farrah (Kyle’s daughter from her previous marriage), Alexia, 28, and Sophia, 24, they also have Portia, 16

“She said to me, ‘Listen, the rules are: You go out, you go on dates, you do whatever you want.’

There was also a storyline in the second season based on Kyle and Mauricio’s daughter Sophia getting involved in the family business.

There was also a scene where the parents were sitting at the table with their daughters (they have four in total) discussing the news of the divorce after the news first broke in the media.

The series premiered in late 2022 and will have a total of 18 episodes.
