An Australian romantic comedy recently released on Netflix has fans falling head over heels for its “wholesome” plot and “straightforward” characters.
Love Is In The Air was released on September 28 on streaming platform Netflix, directed by Adrian Powers and produced by Steve Jaggi, Kylie Pascoe and Kelly Son Hing.
The film stars Kylie Minogue’s ex Joshua Sasse, Roy Billing and leading lady, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem.
Delta Goodrem stars Dana Randall, a fiercely independent pilot for an air service, Fullerton Airways, located in Far North Queensland, Australia.
When ITCM’s London-based financial representative William (Joshua Sasse) is sent to Fullerton Airways to review the organization’s financials, Dana welcomes him, aware that they rely heavily on his company’s subsidies.

According to Tudum – The official fandom site of Netflix – Love Is in the Air is Delta Goodrem’s first starring role in a feature film since 2005, having previously starred in Hating Alison Ashley.
The cinematic Love is in the Air was filmed in the Whitsundays Islands, Australia, and follows the adventures of pilot Dana as she flies over the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef.
Viewers who found the romantic comedy comforting to watch have left rave reviews on the US movie review site Rotten tomatoeswith many praising the ‘simple’ plot and ‘charming’ characters.
One reviewer said, “So romantic, loved watching this with my mom,” while another wrote, “Good, wholesome, cheesy chick flick!” What’s not to love.’
One fan left a glowing five-star review, writing, “Loved the movie. The scenery was beautiful and it was a breezy look. I enjoyed it very much.’
Another, leaving four stars, wrote: Typically predictable, mildly romantic movie, and I loved it! The actors made the film. They all clicked and had good chemistry.”
One fan was impressed with the rom-com’s chosen filming location, saying: ‘Filmed in the Whitsundays. Charming. Beautiful,” while another wrote: “As a former Queenslander I thoroughly enjoyed this easy-to-watch romantic film.

‘Sometimes a good, simple, uncomplicated film just ends up in a beautiful location. This ticked all the boxes for what I was looking for today.”
Some other viewers, meanwhile, were left less than cheerful as they found the film too ‘simple’ for their tastes.
One reviewer, who rated the film three out of five stars, said: ‘The storyline is simple. The end is expected.”
Another person, who gave it a star and a half, wrote, “Meh, time has passed. Kind of. This is basically a movie version of Home and Away…’
Netflix recently announced that it would be adding one of the “best horror films of the year” to its roster as one of the platform’s additions in October.
The Australian-produced Talk To Me, directed by debuting twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, will be released on October 26.
Despite first being shown in 2022 at the Adelaide Film Festival, its theatrical release was highly anticipated as bidders fought for the right to distribute the film, leading to its worldwide debut on July 28.
