Netflix releases first look image of Bridgerton season three

Netflix fans were freaked out Saturday when they released a first look at season three of Bridgerton at the Tudum: A Global Fan Event.

The third series of the successful Regency Romance, which follows the eight Bridgerton siblings as they try to find love, continues the love story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

In the last episode of season two, Penelope Colin heard snide remarks about her to the other gentleman and has decided to finally give up one of her long unrequited feelings for him.

Penelope has decided to get a husband during the third season, hopefully one who will allow her independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown.

On the other hand, Colin returns with a new swagger, but becomes disheartened when he notices that his good friend Penelope, who always appreciates him, gives him a cold look.

Desperately trying to mend his relationship with Penelope, Colin offers to help her build her confidence to find a husband.

When his lessons begin to pay off, Colin must make a decision whether his feelings are kind or something more.

In the first photos, the couple can be seen staring into each other’s eyes as they shine in their finery.

In another moment, Penelope and Colin seem rather close as they get more serious in their roles.

Penelope seems upset as she sits alone in a window seat with her hand in front of her face in the last photo.

Also at the end of last season, Penelope’s best friend and Colin’s sister Eloise (Claudia Jessie) discovered her scandalous secret that she is Lady Whistledown.

During season three, the rift between Eloise and Penelope continues and becomes more complicated. Penelope will also struggle to keep her identity quiet as her presence in the barrel makes it more difficult.

The Shondaland production will add Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips and James Phoon to the cast this season.

Francis will play Marcus Anderson, a charismatic presence who draws the attention of certain matriarchs to the ton and annoyance of others.

Phillips will play Lord Debling, a genius gentleman with unusual interests who has wealth and a noble title to support his eccentricities and a long line of young romantic interests.
