Netflix just added an Unhinged thriller film that features Russell Crowe as a raging psychopath

We all love a good thriller, and Netflix has an abundance of them. There is usually a good selection added to the new Netflix films and this month we have the psychological thriller film Russell Crowe Unhinged.

While Crowe is known for his Oscar-nominated heroic leading roles in The insider, a beautiful mind and of course the historical epic Gladiator, out of control proves that he can steal the screen as a menacing villain.

We’ve all had to deal with the universal experience of getting impatient on the road and beeping at other drivers. Good, Unhinged It might make you think before you honk the horn next time, as Crowe stars as a sadistic psychopath who catches a case of deadly road rage and targets an impatient driver to teach her a lesson.

Unhinged was first released in theaters in 2020, but is now available to stream on top streaming services. In Unhinged, single mother Rachel (Caren Pistorius) is having the worst day ever. Rachel is late for work and is stuck in traffic during the school break. She is dismissed by telephone. But her incredibly bad day soon turns into a full-blown nightmare when she gets into a fight with Tom Cooper (Crowe) after she honks at him for stalling at the green light. Unable to let go, Tom spirals into a violent rage and pursues Rachel for revenge. As Rachel tries to protect her son Kyle (Gabriel Bateman), she is forced to confront Tom as he becomes even more unhinged and derailed.

While the film wouldn’t be considered the best Netflix film due to its 48% Rotten Tomatoes score, the action-packed carnage that veers between terror and silliness makes it a great Netflix watch. Variety that writing Unhinged “delivers exactly the nasty B-movie sensation you expect”. It adds, “the carnage is the point here, not the reasoning behind it, and Borte and Crowe bring it to a suitably frothing, angry head.”
