Jordan Peele’s most popular film Out has a virtually flawless score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it one of the best Netflix moviesbut is being removed from UK Netflix today, June 15, to make room for one of his more underrated films No instead, which only has a 69% rating.
Despite the lower score, No is still worth it and even though it may not be as popular as Outit’s a must watch, especially if you want to complete his most recent trilogy of works, with his second film Us also highly rated by critics.
No combines the horror, mystery and sci-fi genres to create a truly unique film that will stay with you for a long time. There are a few scenes in particular that I still think about long after I saw this movie in theaters two years ago.
There is also a great cast with Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun all in leading roles. So if you haven’t seen it yet NoI highly recommend you check it out now that it’s on the website best streaming service.
Elsewhere, Netflix has just done that canceled a popular animated show with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, so there are some big changes happening within their library lately. For those in the US and Australia, you can still stream Out on Peacock and Prime Video, respectively No on Starz and Paramount Plus.
What is No about?
In Nowe follow a farmer named OJ who trains horses for film productions. He teams up with his sister Emerald, who recently lost their father after small metal objects began falling rapidly from the sky, one of which killed their father.
After this tragedy, they realize that something sinister is going on and decide to investigate further, especially after falling into despair and being fired from a set after one of their horses panicked violently. This led them to team up with the owner of a nearby theme park, who is trying to profit from what’s happening in the sky.
It’s quite a difficult film to summarize and explores complex themes, with director Jordan Peele saying he wanted to tackle society’s “addiction to spectacle” in an interview with Empire magazine.
This is definitely one of those movies that should shock you, so avoid spoilers and delve into this as little as possible before streaming it. Netflix – I promise it’s worth it.
