Netflix has reportedly given the feuding Spice Girls a ‘grim ultimatum’ over a much-talked-about TV biopic, which could earn all five members £1million each.

According to The sun the streaming service has stepped in after Geri Horner decided to pull out of her involvement in the project, after Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham were all approached.

The publication reports that Netflix has told the band to come up with something else, much like the controversial drama The Crown will create the show without any input from the people featured in it.

A source said: ‘Executives are keen to get the whole group on board and providing as much input as possible – they are pop royalty after all.

But Netflix is the organization that defied the wishes of real-life royalty and went ahead to make The Crown, so they’re not afraid to go it alone when necessary.

‘The project is still in its early stages, so there is plenty of time to involve all five Spice Girls.

MailOnline has contacted representatives from all five Spice Girls and Netflix.

Viewers and public figures alike have openly criticized The Crown for rewriting history, with Dame Judi, 89, accusing the company of “gross sensationalism”, and former Prime Minister John Major, 81, calling the show “nonsense”.

Fans have also visited the latest series with scenes showing the ghost of Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) in conversation with King Charles (Dominic West) and the late Queen Elizabeth (Imelda Staunton).

Meanwhile, King Charles lobbies Prime Minister John Major (Johnny Lee Miller) in a bizarre attempt to force his mother’s abdication.

Last month, Geri’s husband Christian Horner was forced to deny claims he was responsible for ‘derailing’ the band’s TV project.

It came after Ginger Spice reportedly turned down the lucrative TV drama deal for the 1990s pop group, amid rumors she and Christian had been approached to make a ‘really personal’ flying TV series.

Christian dismissed reports of a documentary earlier this year, telling the PA news agency: ‘A lot is being written about different things but there are absolutely no plans to make a family documentary.

‘Netflix does enough, and you see enough of it behind the scenes. So where that report came from, I have absolutely no idea.”

According to The Sun, Geri, Mel, Mel C, Victoria Beckham and Emma Bunton were all approached for a drama series with a seven-figure reward.

Insiders claim that the talks were going well until Geri decided to withdraw from her involvement in the project.
