Netflix fans go WILD over Tom Cruise blockbuster despite it BOMBING at the box office – as streaming giant gives the ‘unforgettable’ movie new life

A Tom Cruise blockbuster has taken Netflix by storm – exactly one year after a serious flop at the box office.

Despite receiving positive reviews upon its release in June 2023, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning was MovieWeb.com at the time.

But now the film has had a surprising resurgence on Netflix, landing on the streaming platform’s Global Top 10 list last week.

The action film – starring Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and Vanessa Kirby – follows agent Ethan Hunt on a new adventure through the Arabian desert.

The film was released in June 2023 and was subsequently labeled by MovieWeb.com as the “least commercially successful Mission: Impossible film of the past decade.”

He and his Impossible Mission Force team are tasked with tracking down a deadly weapon powered by AI.

Although it grossed $567 million at the box office, Variety It was estimated five weeks after its premiere that it would lose approximately $100 million thanks to high production costs and marketing expenses.

While doing press for the film, however, both Tom and writer-director Christopher McQuarrie indicated that more films are in the works.
