Netflix fans are in an uproar over an upcoming documentary about lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart.
The documentary, titled Martha, promises to ‘pull back the curtain on one of America’s great self-made icons’ and a trailer for the film shows off the American star’s ability to deliver a brilliant one-liner to great effect.
One moment in the trailer, which also features frequent collaborators with Snoop Dogg, shows the 83-year-old giving sage advice to married women.
“Young women, listen to my advice,” she says.
“If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, he’s a piece of shit. get out of the marriage.’
The scene then cuts to Martha being interviewed by director RJ Cutler, who asks the star, “Didn’t you have an affair early on?” referring to Martha’s ex-husband Andrew Stewart.
Without hesitation, Martha replied, “Yes, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
Martha and Andrew married in 1961 and welcomed their only child Alexis in 1965.

The couple eventually separated in 1987 before finalizing their divorce in 1990.
After the trailer was posted to the official Netflix Instagram, fans were quick to respond to the cheeky line.
“Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that, as I laughed,” one fan exclaimed.
Another offered: “CACKL. Well, okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, while a third party joins in with a simple: ‘Icon.’

“I screamed so loud I woke my sleeping dog,” a fourth joked.
Another scene that caught viewers’ attention was Martha talking about her 2004 trial and subsequent conviction for lying about a stock tip.
“I was a trophy for these idiots,” Martha said, referring to the plaintiffs in the trial.
“I was dragged to an isolation cell, without food or water.”

She then delivered a killer line, describing what she believes prosecutors should have done.
“Those prosecutors should have been put in a Cuisinart and put on edge.”
Fans were equally impressed with Martha’s performance on YouTube, with one fan saying: ‘People thought sending her to jail would destroy her. But that didn’t happen. Instead, she gained a reputation on the street.”
Another expressed a similar sentiment with, “Ohhh, I can’t wait to see this. Martha is a real G.’
Without hesitation, Martha responded with, “Yes, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
After a highly publicized six-week jury trial, Martha was found guilty in March 2004 of charges of conspiracy to commit obstruction, obstruction of an agency proceeding, and making false statements to federal investigators.
She was sentenced in July 2004 to a term of five months in federal prison and two years of supervised release, including five months of electronic monitoring.
She was sent to the Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia, in October 2004 and released in March 2005 before submitting to five months of electronic monitoring and house arrest in Bedford, New York.

Martha Stewart started her working life as a model for Chanel, before embarking on a second career as a stockbroker in 1967.
She then started a catering company in 1976, before releasing her first cookbook Entertaining in 1982 and subsequently releasing numerous best-selling books, as well as Martha Stewart Living magazine and syndicated TV shows – Martha Stewart Living (1993-2004) and The Martha Stewart Show. (2005 – 2012).
After her release from prison, Martha embarked on numerous projects, including cameo roles in Ugly Betty and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
She teamed up with boyfriend Snoop Dogg in 2016 for the VH1 show Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party and the pair also teamed up for a T-Mobile Super Bowl ad in 2017.
