Netflix confirms the fate of a beloved legal drama after cancelling a string of hit shows – but one HUGE star won’t be returning

Netflix has finally confirmed that its beloved legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer is returning for a third season.

After canceling a string of hit shows, including Young Wallander and the since-resurrected Warrior Nun, fans feared the series would be the next to take the hit.

The second season ended on August 3, and now fans can look forward to another 10 episodes about LA-based attorney Mickey Haller.

Season three will be based on the fifth book in Michael Connelly’s series, titled The Gods of Guilt, with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprising his role as Mickey Haller.

Once again he appears alongside Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), Angus Sampson (Cisco) and Yaya DaCosta (Andrea Freemann).

However, Neve Campbell will not be returning as a series regular, with her character Maggie being noticeably absent from Connelly’s fifth book.

Season two came to a dramatic end when Mickey went to jail to meet his new client, Julian La Cosse, who was accused of murder.

It then ended on a huge cliffhanger as the lawyer recognized the dead woman’s body – meaning a third season could explore the events leading up to Giselle’s murder.

The books were previously made into a movie in 2011, starring Matthew McConaughey as the titular lawyer.

After Netflix announced the renewal of the show, fans took to social media to share their joy with one tweet: “Can’t wait for the new season!”

Another said, “I’m going to watch this,” and a third said, “We’d love to see @lanaparrilla again.”

One went to post: ‘Great news! Justice for glory days!’

It comes after Netflix fans went wild about their new thriller Who Is Erin Carter? which they have praised as a ’10/10.’

While another confessed that they simply “couldn’t leave their laptop behind” before watching the entire series.

Released on August 24, the show revolves around the secretive teacher whose name inspires the title, as her past catches up with her despite the fact that she has left for Spain with her family.

The huge response to the seven-part series comes after it was initially panned by critics who denounced the series for its “appalling dialogue.”

However, it’s clear that Netflix viewers have ignored the naysayers, with several expressing their excitement about the show on social media.
