A chef starring in a Netflix series heroically defended herself in a San Francisco liquor store after a homeless man allegedly racially abused her.

Wendy Drew, who starred in the hit series ‘You Are What You Eat: A Twin Experiment’, was leaving Café Terminus at 9:30pm on Sunday, September 1, when a stranger attacked her with profanities.

“I’m on the phone with my mom, and some average guy walks by with his dog and calls me the N-word,” Drew said. KTV.

“Then he turned around and started hitting me on the head. He hit me on the head like three times. I thought, ‘You’re not going to get away with hitting me,'” she said. The San Francisco Standard.

Drew managed to push the man into a liquor store on Drumm Street, where she asked bystanders to call 911 as she punched the man.

CCTV footage from the store showed the chef bravely holding down the attacker as he delivered a series of hard blows to her face.

Based on the footage, authorities were able to identify the man as Irvin Rivera-Lara, a 31-year-old homeless man with a history of violence.

The video shows Drew and Rivera-Lara struggling near a refrigerator, with a customer approaching the attacker and pepper spraying him in the face.

The homeless man then grabbed the cook by his hair and the two continued to hit each other until they fell to the ground behind the cash register.

Rivera-Lara tried to stand up, but Drew held on to his body with determination. Meanwhile, the homeless man’s dog stood nearby, barking excitedly.

“I basically had him in a bear hug. I had my legs around him and he kept trying to get away,” the Netflix star told the san francisco standard.

The footage shows Rivera-Lara finally manage to stand up, then lean over Drew and unleash a flurry of brutal punches across her face.

But the iron-strong boss refused to give in. She stood up and stumbled to the door, where she tried to block the attacker’s exit.

After some intense scuffles, Rivera-Lara was able to push Drew aside and leave the store.

But she followed him outside and said, ‘You’re not getting away. You’re going to jail today.’

She was then able to attract the attention of her boyfriend and other men who ran out of Cafe Terminus and held Rivera-Lara until authorities arrived.

The attack left the chef with serious facial injuries. She was taken to hospital to have a bloody gash glued shut and a tetanus shot.

When Drew first saw Rivera-Lara, she thought he looked like a “tech bro.” To her surprise, he turned out to be a homeless man with a violent past.

“He looked like someone walking their dog,” she said. “It turned out he was homeless. It didn’t look like he had any mental issues at first glance.”

Rivera-Lara was arrested on suspicion of assault resulting in serious bodily injury, committing a hate crime and providing false information to a police officer.

Last year, he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the owner of a Haight Street sandwich shop after he confronted him about urinating on trash near his business.
