Netflix adds two Christmas classic movies to streaming library ahead of the holidays
Two Christmas classics have been added to the Netflix UK library – weeks before Christmas.
The streaming service added How The Grinch Stole Christmas – the 2000 version starring Jim Carrey as the green character.
Netflix has also added the 2018 animated version of the film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the beloved Christmas villain.
The films revolve around the Grinch, a character from the Christmas children’s book How the Grinch by Theodor ‘Dr. Seuss’ Geisel.
First released in 1957, the story was adapted to the big screen in 1966 with an animated version starring Boris Jarloff as the character’s voice, in 1977 in Halloween is Grinch Night, narrated by Hans Conried, 2000 with Jim Carrey in the lead role. , and the 2018 animated version starring Benedict.
There was also a musical in 2007 and a live television adaptation in 2020.
