Christian Wilkins has faced some major hurdles when it comes to his Hollywood career.

The son of Richard Wilkins had his dreams of becoming an actor put on hold indefinitely when his arrival in Tinseltown coincided with the SAG-AFTRA strike.

But Christian, 28, is not coming back to Australia just yet, as he is busy volunteering for charities that help actors on strike.

Over the weekend, the Dancing with the Stars alum shared a story on his Instagram, speaking to reporters for a food bank organized by Food For Health AHF.

Volunteering at Food For Health AHF to help those affected by the #SAG strike. What a great organization,” he wrote in a caption to his story.

Christian moved to Los Angeles in April to pursue acting, and has struggled to find work as the SAG strike has brought Hollywood to a standstill.

Despite this, Christian has involved himself in the union action.

Earlier this year, he also attended a protest with Australian actor Luke Cook outside Netflix headquarters.

Last weekend, the Dancing with the Stars alum shared a story on his Instagram in which he spoke to reporters for a food bank organized by Food For Health AHF.

Speak with The Daily Telegraph During the demonstration, Christian said, “It certainly wouldn’t have been my favorite example of a time to move here, but it’s also quite amazing to be here and see how the community has come together.”

Since Christian has not been able to get a job as an actor in the United States, it is unlikely that he is a member of SAG, but this has not tainted his passion.

“It really boosted my interest in it and my love and passion for acting,” he said.

Christian also hopes the strikes will inspire Australian actors and writers to stand up for themselves at home.

Christian’s connection with his famous father previously helped him build a modeling and reality TV career in Australia.

Dynasty star Luke Cook, who recently made headlines for revealing his incredibly low pay, meanwhile told the publication that the strike could continue until March next year.

That means Wilkins may have to wait a while before kickstarting his Hollywood career.
