Neo-Nazi who ‘plowed truck into White House gates to kill Biden’ planned elaborate ‘coup’ speech

The neo-Nazi who allegedly plowed a U-Haul truck into the gates of the White House in a failed attempt to assassinate President Joe Biden planned an elaborate ‘coup’ speech announcing the end of American democracy .

Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, also intended to threaten opponents with the death penalty and signed the speech with the Nazi motto.

Kandula, of Chesterfield, Missouri, drove into the White House security barriers around 10 p.m. on May 22 while Joe Biden was inside.

He then exited the vehicle with a large Nazi flag that was later unrolled on the sidewalk. Despite his failed attack, he told a Secret Service agent, “My message has been received.”

The academically gifted teen, who was arrested and charged with looting US property and attempting to assassinate, kidnap or harm the president, was held without bail pending a hearing Tuesday.

Prosecutors say the bigger concern was his alleged intent to overthrow the government, going to great lengths to harm President Biden.

Federal prosecutors filed a memo on Friday arguing that Kandula should be held behind bars unconditionally for a possible trial, NBC news reports.

They alleged that he kept a diary of a coup speech he planned to give if he had been successful in his attempts to take over the White House.

In the diary, which Kandula called his “green book,” he describes a post-democratic US and addresses “my fellow citizens of America.”

‘As I am familiar with the [unknown] that this country is a democratic nation, and will no longer be so,” the passage reads.

“There will be consequences if civil unrest arises. To make it clear Any opposition will be punished with the death penalty to make it clear: (kill president) As you have seen, we will declare ourselves court-martial until the situation is resolved [unknown]. We will rebuild this world.’

Kandula, who praised Adolf Hitler and the “strong history” of the Nazis, their “authoritarian nature, eugenics and their world order,” ended the passage with the words “Sieg hail” – a misspelling of the Nazi motto which translates as ‘victory to victory’.

Prosecutors allege that Kandula should remain in custody as he poses a danger and a flight risk as he has visited India on several occasions. He would be a legal US citizen as a green card holder, but could be deported if convicted.

The truck crashed into gates about 800 feet from the White House and Kandula was apprehended

FBI investigators searched the suspect’s family home in a leafy Missouri suburb on Tuesday. Several officers were seen at the house with briefcases and equipment used to collect evidence

He crashed the truck about 800 feet from the White House before being detained and police officers found evidence, including the flag.

No one was injured in the attack, but Kandula reportedly told investigators he still considered it a success.

“Anyway, whether I got to the White House or not, my message was received,” he said.

Kandula, who graduated from Marquette High School in January 2022, allegedly flew from St. Louis, Missouri, to Dulles and then rented the U-Haul truck.

Some roads and walkways around Lafayette Square were temporarily closed as the site was inspected and The Hay Adams Hotel evacuated.

At the time of Kandula’s arrest, the U.S. Park Police issued the following statement: “At approximately 9:40 p.m. on May 22, officers from the United States Park Police and United States Secret Service Uniform Division responded to the 1600 block of H Street NW for a truck that the preliminary investigation shows that he deliberately crashed into the traffic bollards on the outside of Lafayette Park.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, of Chesterfield, Missouri.

“Kandula was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, threatening to kill/kidnap/harm a president, vice president or family member, destruction of federal property and trespassing.”

Kandula’s defense has yet to respond to the memo from federal prosecutors. He is due to appear before a federal court in Washington on Tuesday at 3 p.m. to decide whether to remain behind bars pending a possible trial.
