Nell Mescal cut a striking figure in a cream dress as she proudly supported her brother Paul at the premiere of Gladiator II in London on Wednesday.

The Hollywood heartthrob’s younger sister, 21, was a vision in the glittering strapless number as she graced the dazzling red carpet that evening.

The Irish singer twirled around and showed off her glamorous dress and beamed softly, sporting stylish brown stilettos.

She added dazzling drop earrings and finished with a glossy red lipstick and peach eyeshadow.

Nell looked every inch the proud sister as she supported Paul, 28, in his highly anticipated starring role for the second part of the historical action film, starring Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Joseph Quinn.

Gladiator II will hit both US and UK theaters on November 22 Oscar nominee Paul’s character battles three-time Emmy nominee Pedro’s Roman general turned gladiator, man-eating baboons and a rhino-riding warrior.

Paul took over the role of Lucius Verus (Spencer Treat Clark), the adult cousin of the late Roman Emperor Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) who idolized the late general-turned-slave-turned-gladiator Maximus Decimus Meridius (Russell Crowe).

Gladiator II – which sees men fight atop giant boats in shark-infested waters – also features Matt Lucas, Fred Hecnhinger, May Calamawy, Lior Raz, Peter Mensah and Tim McInnerny.

“Working on this film was one of the standout moments of my life so far,” Paul said in the pre-recorded introduction.

‘Going to work every day with Sir Ridley Scott behind the camera is a good day to work in any context.’

Nell spoke candidly earlier this summer, insisting that her success in the music industry is purely down to her hard work and not her famous brother.

The songwriter has opened up about how her brother’s fame has affected her in a candid new interview.

The Normal People alumnus is one of the most sought-after actors of the past five years – after finding fame in Normal People and starring in Gladiator II.

Nell has now said that when she first signed up for her music and came to Britain, she was encouraged to drop her surname so the association with Paul was lost.

She told me The Sunday times: ‘When I first signed and came to Britain, a lot of people said, ‘Do you want to change your name to just Nell?’

‘No. I like my name. Many people will assume that every room I enter is because of one specific thing [her brother]but it’s not true and I’ve come to terms with that. I know I am where I am because I work so hard.”

She added of Paul’s fame: ‘It’s strange to see so many people falling in love with him, but of course because he’s such a great guy. It’s nice to see that he works so hard and that it produces results.’

Their brother Donnacha’s siblings and parents are Dearbhla, a Gardí, and Paul, a schoolteacher – both from Maynooth in County Kildare.

In the interview, she added that the siblings usually do normal things together, like movie and takeout nights, and that as a family they are “really best friends.”

Paul showed his support for his sister Nell in May when he attended the launch of her latest debut EP ‘Can I Miss It For A Minute?’.

According to The line of the best fitNell claimed in January: ‘Can I give it a miss?’ is a concept EP written about growing up, moving, breaking friendships and trying to navigate between current emotions and negative memories.

‘Each song tells part of the same story with a beginning, middle and end. Some songs are written in the moment, others are written retroactively.

‘It’s about my life and how I deal with experiences that have shaped me. I think the most important thing is that it is about letting go of things that used to hold me in their grip.’

Nell and her band embarked on a rescheduled series of UK dates and the eight-date tour kicked off in Nottingham and ended at London’s Omeara on 31 January.
