Ryan Moloney and Alan Fletcher were stunned when they heard Neighbors was coming back.
Alan, who plays Karl Kennedy on the soap, appeared on The Project on Friday and said he was “totally shocked.”
‘It’s extraordinary. We were all told individually. So our executive producer ran to everyone’s house on the same day,” said the 65-year-old.

“Funnily enough when he told me I was so shocked but the actor kicked in after about two seconds and I went, I have to remember this face.
“Because if I have to do a total shock…” he joked.
“Mate, it still hasn’t sunk in. It’s been a week so far,” agreed Ryan, 42, who plays Toadie Rebecchi.

“I’ve spent the past few months trying to understand what it means to not work after 28 years. So you know, apparently it won’t be long before you get a job again.’
Ryan said producers were impressed with the ratings for the soap’s finale.
“They got together and said the numbers are pretty damn good and the fans want it,” he explained.
“They came to the party and they’re bringing Neighbors back, baby. Oh yeah!’

Fans panicked after it was announced that Neighbors was returning to television.
However, several of the soap’s stars are stunned after only four actors got to hear the exciting news, while the rest of the cast found out at the same time as the rest of the world.

Takaya Honda, who played David Tanaka on the show, revealed on Friday that only those four stars knew the show was getting a lifeline from Amazon.
“Aside from these three and Stefan, the rest of the cast is figuring it out with you. Please give us time to process. That’s all we know,” he said next to a photo of Moloney, Woodburne and Fletcher.
Matty Wilson, who played Aaron Brennan, also took to his Instagram Stories to say, “I didn’t see this coming.”
It’s unclear if any other cast members will appear in the upcoming Neighbors revival.

It was announced on Thursday that Neighbors had been bailed out just four months after the final episode aired in July.
Moloney, who played Toadie on the long-running series, narrated The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday, that production will start as early as next year.
“We’ll start shooting again next year, early in the year,” Ryan told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Brittany Hockley.

The soap was axed in March after 37 years on the air when Britain’s Channel 5 withdrew as its international broadcast partner.
Following the announcement, fans went wild with the happy news and took to Twitter to express their joy.

Paul Robinson, played by Stefan Dennis, has since grown a beard and longer hair, but said he’ll check his calendar to see if he’s free for the return in the clip – and he was!
They wrote, “OMG OMG OMG everyone, this is the best thing to happen this year!!”
