Neighbors star Guy Pearce shows off his arm tattoos while attending the screening of new film The Convert at the Toronto International Film Festival
Guy Pearce showed off his rugged arm tattoos as he walked onto the red carpet for a special screening of The Convert at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday.
The Australian actor, who recently reprized his iconic role of Mike Young in Neighbours, revealed his ink as he posed in a gray shirt with his arms rolled up.
He paired this with a gray-toned vest and matching trousers, as well as glasses and an unusual gemstone necklace.
The convert is one co-production between Australia and New Zealand, and will be released later this year.
According to Screen Australia, the film is set in 1818 and revolves around British colonialism.

“After participating in the slaughter of innocent civilians during an uprising in colonial Ceylon, British soldier Thomas Munro (Pearce) resigns his commission and takes holy orders,” reads a synopsis.
“Shortly afterwards he is on a ship bound for New Zealand, a newly appointed lay preacher to a young community not yet protected by the Crown.”
It comes after Guy secretly filmed scenes for the Neighbors reboot, alongside on-screen sweetheart Annie Jones.

The Hollywood star shot the scenes in England with Jones, 56, in February before the rest of the cast began working on the new series in Melbourne in April, TV Tonight reported last week.
Pearce and Jones surprised fans last July when they returned for what was believed to be the Neighbors finale, reprising their original roles as lovers Mike and Jane.
When Mike (Pearce) and Jane (Annie Jones) were last seen, they had just decided to buy a house together.
But after Neighbors was revived by Amazon, the show’s producers opted to bring back the characters, says executive producer Jason Herbison.
“When the news of the show’s return was announced, one of the big questions was: What will happen to Mike and Jane?” he said in an interview with TV Tonight.
‘Luckily, Guy was very committed to seeing the storyline through and definitely wanted to honor their relationship and their romance, and the fact that the show had ended with Mike and Jane buying a house together. That’s why we came up with a storyline.’

Elsewhere in the chat, Herbison said Pearce and Jones took time out of their schedules to film the new scenes at an estate in Surrey, outside London.
The storyline, filmed over two days, will span several episodes during the reboot.
Herbison also teased future episodes featuring Pearce’s beloved character.
‘We certainly don’t rule it out. It might not be the last you see of him, but we’ll have to make that happen.”
Pearce originally appeared on the long-running series from 1986 – 1989 as Mike Young, Scott’s best friend, played by Jason Donovan.
Meanwhile, Annie Jones, who played Jane, first appeared in the beloved soap in 1986.
