Neighbours star Dan MacPherson reveals his surprising connection to the racing industry as he’s unveiled as the new face of Channel 7’s Spring Carnival coverage

Former “Neighbours” star Daniel Macpherson is returning to the world of live television.

The actor, 43, is set to become part of the Channel 7 team for the upcoming Spring Carnival of Racing coverage, starting with the Caulfield Guineas this Saturday.

“I have been an owner for many years and I have no regrets.” “I do a little bit of everything, it’s the perfect way to start spring,” he said.

Prior to this new gig, McPherson hosted Dancing With the Stars, but left that role in 2014 to devote himself fully to his acting career.

Since then he has taken on various roles in film, television and even graced the Melbourne stage in 2:22: A Ghost Story opposite Ruby Rose, who recently returned from Hollywood.

“I had such a wonderful time in Melbourne working on 2:22 and coming back in the spring is a reward for sitting through the winter.

“I’m interviewing (trainer) Ciaron Maher and he’s one of the most enigmatic and interesting characters and I’ve spent a few hours with him at his estate,” McPherson said.

It comes after the former Dancing with the Stars host lifted the lid on his co-parenting relationship with ex-wife Zoe Ventoura earlier this year.

He said The Daily Telegraph felt incredibly lucky to see eye-to-eye with fellow actress Zoe when it came to raising their three-year-old son, Austin.

“I have a wonderful relationship with Austin’s mom. We do many things together as well as individually. It’s so special,” he said.

“He’s healthy, and he loves his mum and dad – and his mum and I look at each other and know we’re doing the right thing.”

Daniel, who recently debuted his new relationship with House Rules star Jessica Dover, also reflected on how far he’s come in the past few years.

He mentioned how he struggled with divorce, single parenthood, returning to Australia after a decade in the US, the Covid lockdown and the need to become the oldest sibling in the family.

“So I went through – I wouldn’t say baptism of fire, but just a few years through a blast furnace in many areas of my life – to come out the other side, it took every ounce of mental strength I had,” he admitted.

Daniel became Instagram official with his new girlfriend Jessica in April.

Romance rumors began swirling in March when the Neighbors actor was spotted jogging with the former House Rules star.

Jessica confirmed the news by sharing a series of photos on Instagram to celebrate Dan’s 43rd birthday. ‘Happy birthday @danmacpherson.

I adore you,” she wrote in the caption.

Daniel reposted Jessica’s confession and also shared a picture of the model standing by the ocean alongside the caption: “Birthday visitor.”

A new romance arose two years after Dan divorced Zoe in December 2020, next five years of marriage.

The former couple then shared posts on Instagram with almost identical words, revealing that they had mutually decided to separate.

The couple has a three-year-old son, Austin Xavier, who was born in December 2019. They decided to keep their child out of the public eye and didn’t even announce that Zoe was pregnant.
