The warring factions in a suburban battle over a small brick retaining wall have shed light on the cause of their bitter neighborhood feud.
A TikTok of the observant residents trying to drench each other with a snake while filming a man in thongs kicking loose rocks separating the two front yards recently went viral, garnering millions of views worldwide.
It was just one fight in an eight-year dispute between neighbors in Sydney’s western suburb of Edensor Park, with many of the incidents being filmed and posted online.

At the center of hostilities is water running from the higher ground to its lower neighbor, compounded by the record-breaking rains Sydney has received this year.
Connie, who lives in the higher building with her husband, says the council rules are on their side, as groundwater must be allowed to flow through the street instead of pooling in puddles on her lawn.
“Under city policy, water flow should not be impeded by curbs, fences and retaining walls,” Connie told Channel Nine’s A Current Affair Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Valentina, who lives downstairs with her parents, accused Connie of blocking her sewage system.
“She thinks our house is meant to collect all her rainwater,” Valentina said.
“If she intentionally blocks her drains, her water has nowhere else to go.”

When Valentina’s family brought in a tradition of building a small retaining wall to keep the water from flowing down, it led to a tug-of-war with the hose between Connie’s husband, who was trying to prevent the mortar from setting, and the builder.
Finally, the police were called to separate the warring parties.
The video of the stoush, which was posted online by Valentina, generated more than 7 million views on TikTok.
Both sides film each incident to document the behavior on the other side of the disputed wall.
Connie insists she and her husband are only protecting their property and will continue to try to stop the wall, even if they come into contact with the police.
“I want help, but no one helps me,” she said.
