“Our beautiful Kate is going through the unimaginable… This week begins the fight of her life as she begins chemotherapy,” the fundraising page reads.

“She will lose her beautiful hair and will not be able to bear children in the future. This is terrible news for anyone, let alone 36-year-olds, with no family history of breast cancer.”

Keltie said she was touched by the outpouring of support and expressed her gratitude.

“It’s great to know I have so many incredible people in my corner. I just got over Covid and am starting my first round of chemotherapy tomorrow,” she said in a statement.

“You have no idea how my headspace changed when I went into it because of all of you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.’

Keltie appeared on Neighbors as Michelle Scully, the sister of Holly Valance’s character, from 1999 to 2004.

She has also made guest appearances on Blue Heelers and Halifax fp

She retired from acting in 2008 to pursue a career as a legal consultant.
