Neighbors fans have been overwhelmed with emotion after it was announced that the long-running series will return to the screen in the new year.
The iconic series is being revived four months after it was played after a deal was struck between Amazon Freevee and production company Fremantle.
The announcement was enough to get die-hard fans of the once-popular series moving, and they took to Twitter en masse to share their elation.

“This is the best news ever, I’m crying. I’ve missed you all so much,” one fan wrote, clearly moved by the news.
‘I am crying tears of joy. Thank you very much for this. I can not wait. Thank you to everyone for making this happen,” added another.
“Literally I just heard the great news on the family chat. Awesome. So happy. This dark period of no Neighbors and boring lunch times will soon come to a joyful end,” added another.
The announcement was enough to send die-hard fans of the once-popular series into a spin, and they took to Twitter en masse to share their elation.
“I’m just so happy for everyone involved with Neighbours. I can’t imagine how their lives were turned upside down when it was cancelled. Thank you very much for bringing it back. For them and for the fans,” said another.
‘OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! I literally sob with happiness!!! You just made my year!!! Yes Yes Yes!! Best Christmas present ever,” added another.
In a shocking announcement, Amazon Freevee and Fremantle revealed that the show will return to TV screens Thursday night.

The series airs for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US and includes streaming rights to thousands of episodes from previous seasons.
The series is also streaming on Prime Video in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. It also airs on Ten.

The last-ever episode of Neighbors ended on a high in July, when a peak of nearly 3 million UK viewers tuned into Channel 5.
